    Sindhu defeated talented youngster from china Chen Xiaoxin comfortably in 2 games. Match scores does not reflect the true colours. It was quite a good match. Chen has got jump smashes. She is good in covering all parts of the court quite easily.

    Chen can also play a grinding game. Players can't be complacent against her.

    LHI is thru to the Quarterfinal. He could be a good coach for youngsters especially in the grass root level.

    Looking ahead of the quarterfinal matchup between LD and CL.
    Isn't the match awkward for Team CHN considering the timing in less than 2 mths prior to WC?!
    The same can be said about the other matchup between Sai Praneeth and Kidambi S?
    Wow SP had 5-1 advantage against KS.

    Playing Rajiv Ouseph is physically demanding. Oh my goodness!. Tian Houwei is physically fit. That's why he could run all day long. one game all. Now heading towards 3rd game. Rajiv will be a toast now.

    Lin Dan quite struggled against Christie in the second game, so does he have any chance against Chen Long ?

    Let's hope the match is on TV court.

    Saina Nehwal uses her experience to make the quarters!. Soniia Cheah did well to take game 2 she is showing a lot of improvement and can only get better. Saina looks vulnerable and anyone who pushes hard enough can beat her. This is a golden opportunity for Sun Yu to topple Saina. :)

    Shocking. INA Open winner Li/Liu lost to unseeded Lu/Yang. Still Lu/Yang had a amazing performance in this year GPG event.

    Somehow its difficult to play Left&Right combination especially when they never meet. They are so agile, need different tactics to beat them

    QUARTERFINALS (04.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...D1C54B-EF2E-4ED7-8E0F-2139EF1FB98E&d=20170623

    Indian men's singles players demonstrate fast improvement lately, two of last Superseries winners Srikanth Kidambi will face his compatriot Sai Praneeth. Srikanth dumped world number one Son Wan Ho once again after INA Premier semifinal, dropped opening game the resurgent Indian came back stronger in next two games. Praneeth also involved into three sets to tame Chinese back-up Huang Yuxiang. Defending champion Hans Kristian Vittinghus looks on fire to demolish Ng Ka Long, this 31 years old Danish player will challenge current world number four Shi Yuqi next, Shi seemed sluggish how he beat Kanta Tsuneyama. On lower-half draw, Chinese top guns will set up a gigantic quarterfinal clash, Chen Long outclassed Anthony Ginting while Lin Dan got stiff resistance in second game to tackle another Indonesian promising star Jonatan Christie. One more Chinese player books last eight spot, former champion Tian Houwei gets Korean evergreen Lee Hyun Il. Lee had bad start, trailed behind 1-9 but the vast experienced Lee catched up slowly and took crucial opening game, 22-20 while Tian outlasted the in-form Englishman Rajiv Ouseph, 21-18 / 19-21 / 21-8.

    Women's singles quarterfinal plot is quite predictable, on upper half draw the superb Tai Tzu Ying will meet familiar opponent Pusarla Sindhu, world number one Taiwanese won over Rio silver medalist in last two encounters, HKG Open and All England, both of them eliminated their second round hurdle with two straight-games. The battle of teenager will see Akane Yamaguchi facing reigning World Junior Champion Chen Yufei. The rematch of last year final will happen tomorrow, Saina Nehwal - who needed extra efforts to overcome Malaysian Sonia Cheah - against Chinese representation Sun Yu. Japan has secured one semifinal berth through the in-form Nozomi Okuhara versus Sayaka Takahashi who come back from injury. Takahashi outmaneuvered He Bingjiao, this 20 years old extends her poor performance after stole limelight post Rio OG last year.

    A premature exit for new world number one pair Li JH/Liu YC, the Chinese couldn't find an answer to block energetic duo Lu CY/Yang PH. The unseeded Taiwanese will take on promoted players, Korean experimenting pair Choi SG/Kim DY. The highest seeded pair left in this category, Kamura/Sonoda have tricky test to pass Chen HL/Wang CL. The opportunity is open wide for four underdogs at the opposite draw, Liu C/Zhang N will find Bitburger Open champion Ong YS/Teo EY, one remaining tie will pit trans-national partnership Setiawan/Tan BH against giant-killer Inoue/Kaneko.

    Three traditional women's doubles powerhouses, Japan, Korea, China pairs stay on course in this tournament alongside with Danish finest Juhl/Pedersen. A close contest will be projected between All England champion Chang YN/Lee SH contra MAS Premier winner Fukushima/Hirota. Both Japan and China have guaranteed their semifinal spot, Matsutomo/Takahashi versus Tanaka/Yonemoto, Chen QC/Jia YF will be challenged by their senior Bao YX/Tang JH.

    Two Chinese mixed doubles pairs fill last eight spot, last year beaten finalist Zheng SW/Chen QC will meet Japan fresh combination, Kobayashi/Matsutomo who stunned more favoured Tan KM/Lai PJ in second round. Meanwhile Wang YL/Huang DP has established pair, English married couple The Adcocks, the latter battled hard to dump Korean Sudirman Cup heroes Choi SG/Chae YJ. Indonesian last hopeful Jordan/Susanto are favoured to progress against Malaysian temporary duo Chan PS/Cheah YS and will meet either Thailand Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai or the impressive Korean new partnerships, Kim DY/Kim HN at last four.

    The lineup is quite exciting even without lot of star power.
