Gill Clark dueted with Michael Fuchs recently, and he did a really good job. And I quite like Jim Laugesen.
It took me a while to realize what Morten Frost was saying, when he says "variation" like "vy-a-shun". When Morten Frost commentates, does it necessarily mean he goes to the tournament? I went to the U.S. Open, but I never remembered seeing Morten Frost, yet he commentated for the finals found on youtube.
Really you are taking a good step and I want to appreciate you to continue this program. It will be most necessary for our next generation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dykxQhQW6F0 OK, we know the male commentator is the inimitable JB. But, who is the lady?
Agree with Cheung, it's Anna Rice. She is well spoken .... and somehow survived being boxed in with Mr. Burgess. (GC 's restraining order against him must have been in place. )
LOL. Did you actually listen to the commentary for a while? It's Charmaine Reid, and she had a flight leaving in 3 hours even while Game 1 was underway. "No pressure" she says, "there's no traffic in Jakarta."
Doh! Wrong Canuck! How fleeting fame is when you are a retired badminton player in Canada: From completely ignored to entirely forgotten in no time flat! :-(
Not at the time! I continued watching (and listening) and that is when John briefly ditched his hyperbole to say, "Charmaine" and "Reid" before he sank back into his state of delight. You mean Cheung's Q, right?
I'm amazed by how many commentators can confuse Indonesia with other countries. For example, confusing Indonesia with Malaysia or India. India is IND, while Indonesia is INA. and I must say it becomes infuriating when it is repeatedly done. and I must say I'm amused the commentator at the Asian games knows about the korean chant but says that "there must be somebodies birthday" when commentating about Indonesian's chanting, which clearly says Indonesia.
opikbidin : Glad that you are amused and not angry. We are all ignorant in one way or another, so might as well get a good laugh out of it.
