I didnt get it until now. Yea, I'm happy people might actually watch that and know its a real sport : ). Man, I wanna kick those people in the face who thinks it is so easy. Just this week a few days ago I heard someone say, "How can you lose in badminton, its so easy?" Then I wanted to tell her off, lol. But I had to get to class.
One of the many things I do to trump the disdainful is show them a video of a Men's Doubles match. The one I have in my PSP is the 2001 All England MD Final (Sigit Budiarto & CandraWijaya vs Tony Gunawan & Halim Heryanto). That usually shuts them up pretty quickly (especially if you get them to plug in the earphones). And when they comment (slack-jawed, wide-eyed and all) that it is "wow, fast" or "man, that's intense", I end by saying: 'Um, that was over eight years ago."
The Minnesota Wild have signed Duncan Milroy to a two-way contract. Just an FYI. Milroy played five games with the Montreal Canadiens in the 2006-07 season garnering one assist. He played last season for Ingolstadt of the German Elite League where he had 14 goals and 48 points in 49 games. The 26-year-old should play for Houston of the AHL next season. Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune Duncan Milroy is the brother of Canadian badminton players Bobby and William Milroy.
On a side note Jimmy Van Ostrand who was a ranked B.C player is in the minor leagues with the Oakland A's and I he was on the canadian olympic team for baseball in the Bejing Games
Or it could $$$ to pick ice hockey than baddy. Maybe Duncan is smarter than his brothers keep losing in first rounds making nothing while if gamble in hockey pay out, an average hockey player earns >CAD$500K a year amd women in Canada digs hockey players.
He's only a minor league player. I read they earn in the neighbourhood of $70K a year, which is a far cry from what NHL players command. Canadian chicks must dig toothless guys
Remember where you saw it first : the next Teemu Selanne playing 'badminton' [probably against teammates in the Finnish junior hockey squad that just won the world title a month ago. This is in the preparation leading up to it] (yep, I thought it would be at least a little bit longer too ) Oh here's the other top 5 draft pick in the upcoming NHL draft also playing: And another possible 1st round pick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOQJkd7RgNs (probably a bit of video for every player in their vid) edit: he was already drafted last year as #5 in Round 2, probably would have been a first rounder this year though. They need some sessions with Ville Lang In the meanwhile in Sweden ... alternative goalie training
Re: that goalie video: WHY? Why are those goalies playing badminton? Please tell me the coach says something clever at the end. For example, that it's punishment for bad play the day before. Because, as a former (bad) goalie and a current (bad) badminton player, I cannot fathom what skill that is honing. Nor is it evident that they are doing it for enjoyment.
