I don't see much point if you will do it like that. No difficulty at all. If you want to get better at 100m sprint will you walk up and down the track?

Even done faster, I would say the exercise is little more than something to pass the time or a gentle warm up.

It's better against a brick wall because then you get random angles and you need to concentrate and keep fast reactions. With a smooth wall and doing it slowly there is no point imo.

I occasionally do this in my living room for fun!
Only to pass the time, and not really much else.

    Did it help your reflexes?

Hard to say. My flat play has gotten better, as well as my front court shots. But it may also, and more likely, be a result of just my regular training as well.

Sure it can help improve reflexes, grip changes and wrist/finger strength.

Remember to keep your stroke compact and focused. Strike the bird in front of you. Loose grip so that you can switch easily between forehand and backhand quickly. Grip higher if your racket is too heavy for you, because you want speed not power.

Keep moving your feet, staying on the balls of the feet. And you'll need a concrete wall preferably. And feather birds work better.

Thanks, old school training but still one of the best for improving defense :)

Yeap, you could also use training racket with racket cover (with hole in the middle) just as shown in the video, I prefer those for power training ^^

You'll need a smooth concrete wall for rebound.

Start by standing closer first if you don't have much power yet, then stand further back when you get more power.

    Backhand thumb grip.

Push your forearm away from you with short sharp compact supination movements.

Hunt for the shuttle and concentrate on hitting the sweetspot.

If I wanna do it on my house wall but don't want to damage my walls (my wife will kill me :p), anyone has any suggestion on what to hang up or paste over my wall and still achieve the same results hitting the wall? :)
