Here is the drawing file,
Tommy Sugiarto is playing here, and seeded #3 too! Hope he can beat Wacha (#1 seed) in the SF... if he does, then Eric Pang will see him in the finals.... 3rd International Challenge title for Tommy? I hope so...
Megawati Gustiani is playing? Who funded her?!?
Okvana Viki Indra-Megawati Gustiani is the #1 seed for XD?!? Really?!? Does anyone know who is supporting them?
Even Tommy Sugiarto is smarter than whoever is in charge of PBSI's tourney planning.
He has a realistic chance of reaching SF and that could see his ranking jump up even further.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$ of course
MMmmm..... the airfare cost to fly round-trip from Jakarta to Bahrain and the living expenses will probably cancel out most of the prize money obtained... badMania is right, this tournament is more for ranking points rather than money...
Why don't you try to calculate the economics a bit. You will see what I mean...
I mean '$$$$$' is not the prize money, but the cost to send them.
...and it is rare to see PBSI will send youngster to far place..
I think Bahrain Open gives medico ire players to win some titles..
Iran wins West Asia Badminton Championships
Tehran Times Sports Desk
MANAMA, Bahrain - Iran’s men’s and women’s badminton teams emerged as championships at the first BAC-West Asia Universal Team Tournaments on Monday.
In the competitions held in Manama’s Indian Club, the Iranian teams claimed the titles and the host finished runners-up in the women's and men's categories.
Iran men’s team defeated Bahrain 3-2 and completed this round robin tournament on top with a 5-0 win-loss record and 10 points to their credit.
Prizes were presented to the winners after the finals. The event was attended by Iran Badminton Federation president Mohammed Reza Pouria, Indian Club's president P. K. Paul, Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation's general-secretary Hisham Al Khan, and other officials
i wonder why those mas back up or junior player will not play here?
Results Day-2 :
With the withdrawal of the top-seed Wacha, I think Tommy Sugiarto is in a good shape to reach yet another IC tourney Final.
Opponents he will face:
R16 vs Surgey Ivlev
QF vs Ali Shahhosseini or Heri Setiawan
SF vs Tan Yuhan or Dinuka Karunaratne
If he does reach the Final, he will most likely face Eric Pang .
Yupppp... Tommy vs. Eric in the finals!!!
Tommy beat Dinuka ( he beats Yuhan Tan in QTR) and to final....either Eric or others
Anna Held is the champion, beating Judith in qtr.
Tommy is the champion , beating Eric Pang in Final
Viki/Megawati is the champion
congratz to Tommy Sugiarto for winning a title again.
Wow...Tommy Sugiarto certainly is enjoying his comeback, after beating the higher-ranked Eric Pang (WR 44) in the Final. 3rd consecutive titles in a row!
Will he go to the India International Challenge? He will rise up to the top 60 with only 8 tourneys.
Congratz for Tommy and Viki/Mega. Good achievement
