Our Uncle Sam, Singapore Sports Council

I called Stephanie from the SSC to tell her that we should have at least 30 BFers attending the semi-finals and finals at the Aviva Open Singapore 2004.

Last Wed, she called me to inquire whether we needed any help. I made my requests and she confirmed the following just now:

    1. She has booked Bedok Sports Hall for our Fun Games on Sat, 20 Nov. It will be 2 courts for 2 hours each from 10 am to 12 pm.

    2. She will instruct the reception at the North Entrance of the SIS to allow us to collect the fun making items: flags of China, M'sia, S. Korea, Indonesia and S'pore, party horns and "Team Singapore" clatters.

    3. She will allocate for the 'BadmintonCentral.com' group a block of seats at the East Entrance close to the action.

    4. If we wish to bring in our own banner, there is no objection. We need to sort this out ourselves. Any body got any ideas apart from my 'flash card' suggestion?

So, guys, those of you who are supporting us as a group at the SIS will be in for a great time. And with Kwun and Han dishing out extra freebies, what more can you ask for? Sign Up NOW to avoid disappointment! :D :D :D

aside from SSC, everybody should thank Loh and whoever nominated Loh as the organizer! :)

shame to confess that i have not made the BC banner. and i won't be able to do it before i leave on saturday. i wonder if anybody in Singapore can help out to make one for us. if it incur cost to do it, BC will pay for it. that's not a problem. (do try to keep the cost down though... ;) )

i do have other good news. i am getting a media pass for the event and i will be able to get close to the court to take pictures as well as to press conferences. as a result, i will be able to supply more news and lots of pictures for everybody to read and see. this is very cool indeed.

Wow, Kwun, this is great news! You're going to be our photographer and reporter! Did you request an extra media pass for Chesire Cat aka the 'Pink Panther'? We can't forget her! ;)

Can someone from Singapore take on Kwun's request on the banner? PLEASE.

    Cooooooooooooooool

i don't think Eva need the help of BC. she is from a much larger organization call the Jakarta Post, she will have much less problem getting one!

i just called my mom and she says she will make one for us. so banner problem should be solved!

i wonder how big should it be?

My, my, it really is 'everything's falling into places'. All in the family, eh, but not quite, what is Janet's role in all these? ;)

Well, I better go now (out of the office, that is) as I have to meet our semi-finals Master's rivals at the S'pore Swimming Club in about two hours' time.
Not much chance against much younger opponents, but we shall try to give them a good fight! ;)

Besides all those gifts from Bcfers member... Aviva will be also giving out free shuttlecocks for the first 500 attendees on the 20th and 21st. Just present your tickets at the entrance ..

There will be also special promotions from Yonex during the Spore Open.. just look out for it at the Yonex booth.

Boohoo... i envy you guys :(

Yeap. That's why I've been 'typecasting' all matches which I can watch.

My 4 buddies will join us in the final day. They all play badminton, but not BC/BF members so far. Next week will be very busy for me, but negotiating to swap shift on Friday. If ok then I will join you from Friday onward. Thursday not sure, even evening sessions.
