Yes. Search is a bit broken at the moment. I am tracking it and should have a fix soon.
 
Would be happy to share some system administration work for the server(s), assuming they run on Linux.
Or maybe contribute some simple scripts to notify the administrators in the event certain system metric thresholds are reached.

Good to have BC back!

You could just redirect people to use google to search the forum and leave it off it it caused a problem

Glad this site is back I was getting worried!
 
Thanks @kwun for your hard work in getting badminton central back online! It's only when something is gone do you realize its real value and how precious it is. I missed this site so much and posting my thoughts here. :)

The search function should be slowly come back online. One of the step to fixing the site is to remove the search index, it is now being rebuilt.

For many years BC has been hosted on our own servers and all software management is done by me. Unfortunately over the years, both the software and my skill has gotten a bit stale as my IT knowledge is from long time ago. I will look into potential better way to host BC, perhaps using some of the managed forum hosting services. But it will not be an overnight process so please bear with me.

Yes, search goes back very far now. Also the profile "posts/threads by user" work now. Nice! Search was the most important.

Older watched threads still broken.

Thank for the effort to reunite all badminton players of the world under 1 roof.
Days without this forum was terrible. All the database and information accumulated through out these years! Would be a waste if it was all gone without warning.
If the day that this forum would close do give us all a long advance notice....we need to prepare for this breakup.
I wrote to Becky only she knows ur contact so kuddos to her.

And guys where are we gonna go if 1 day this place is no longer here?

Life has become complete with BC back. Such has been a part of this forum in my life, I’m sure in others’ lives too. First 3-4 days I was like it’ll be back in no time. Then 1st week went by and I thought maybe it’s a big bug or something. After 10-14 days I thought maybe we won’t be able to see this forum back. But still with hope, I used to check if the site was back or not. Huge Thanks to @kwun and others, if any who have put long hours to fix the issue. I wish this kind of thing doesn’t happen and cherish these moments for a long long time, for eternity :)

Looks like we missed everyone although we hardly know each other except for those of us who met up physically im KL back in 2000 including Kwun for the Thomas Cup and I think only Kwun and myself are still active now from that group.

Yes Nokh, everyone was missed. You experienced ones plus us young ones, it’s always nice to chat with each other in this forum. Through ups and downs, we all have connected with each other.
