Hmmmmmmm i think the best Jump Smasher for MS is LIN Dan, no doubt about it.
And for MD i think FU Haifeng is the best, Jia You Minna San.

You are right that LD has the best jump smash...I saw him live in WC05 and it was a beauty to watch.

Yeah. Whatever happened to her? One of the few ladies doubles who jump smashed like a guy. She sorta faded away.

Lin Dan (personally i think his wrist-smashes are sometimes more effective than his full jumps) But his full jump is the best-looking.

Fu Haifeng-what can i say? best power, great angle. the way his legs float about after the smash makes him look like a puppet

Power/angle/effectiveness is nothing. Looks are all that matters!

oh wait. Xu Chen is capable of packing some good angled punch too

Aw man forget you guys :p Everyone's missing some of the best and most effective jump smashers in history!

Peter Rasmussen, and Kim Dong Moon! Though maybe not exceptionally powerful (Still amazingly powerful though), awesome angle, and even better technique, so its not just one jump smash, but they're able to do consecutive jump smash after jump smash all in beautiful form.

Oh and Lin Dan...well there's no question that he's certainly one of the most effective smash-oriented player on the circuit right now...

I also like Bao Chunlai's jump smash(?) :p It's unique in that its not powerful, and yet it goes down very fast, and the angle is very tough to reach and hard to predict :p I think he's simply one of the most unique top-tiered players on the circuit.

Honestly it is tough to measure which players' jump is the most effective....
What we call effective is that they smash at the right time and it is 'IN" and they do not use too much energy to perform .....many players can do that....it is a matter which style of their jump that we admire the most...some of us prefer to Hariyanto's style, LD's style, PG's Style, Yang yang's style, Zhoa Jian HUa's....or Lim Swie King's style...

well, we all know that fu haifeng now posseses the strongest jumping smash ever.... about 332kph???? i can say that all of his smashes are really hard. i haven't seen any smashes from him that is quite not good because all of his smashes are like dynamic explosives...

Based on the replies, seems like most here began following badminton only in the late 90s. :)

Agree....Sigit is the most dynamic MD player ever (natural talent), follow by Heryanto Arby, Liem Swie King and Rexy Mainaky....
