Bitburger Badminton Open GP Gold 2014 (28th October-2nd November 2014)

Any players in top 8 seeds can spring a surprise to take the title in MS. Chou tien chen, Rajiv ouseph, victor axelsen and marc zweibler , all these four has higher chances of winning the title.

We can't eradicate prannoy, sai paneeth, tian houwei , chen yueken etc as well. Any of them can challenge anybody. Nobody is consistent enough yet like LCW and LinDan.

Coming to WS, World champion Carolina Marin is the favourite. Beiwen zhang and li michelle of canada can bring a surprise. We cant eliminate SunYu as well. She has a very good attacking game.

In MD, boe/mogensen are favourites. Russian pair can give a good fight to them. It seems there are no other familiar pairs except german pair.

In XD, adcocks are the favourites. But 2 chinese pairs are there in the seeds. Let's hope for a good fight. German and singapore pairs are very good players. Hope Danny bawa/ vanessa show their talent here.. I support them. They have a very good solid game.

WD - No idea.. All are new to me.

Both Axelsen and Ouseph have withdrawn. Yup, speaking about consistency, it's hard to beat both LCW and LD stability.

I think Kate Foo Kune must be of Chinese Hakka descent.
Most Mauritian Chinese are just that. Many have double barrelled surnames due to the chinese usually stating surnames first and then the forenames. This happened when the first generation arrived in Mauritius and got their forenames put down in their official documents as their surnames.

Wonder why Axelsen withdrew. He hasn't been pushed physically the last couple of tournaments.

Thanks for the information, Cheung. Read some where that a Chinese descendant was once the Law minister of Mauritius. Will be nice to go to Mauritius for a holiday.I was told that many rich Chinese couples go there or the paradise islands of Maldives and Seychelles to tie the knot.

Kate foo kune def Simone prutsch she can be a good player..
Who is Richard Domke relative of Dieter domke??
Anyways he was retired earlier in his match

Who is the mysterious Liao Junwei and is his opponent, Ari Trisnanto, formerly from INA?

Yeah, very little known about Liao Junwei, even his birthday given on BWF 1/1/1980 is definitely incorrect as that's the standard biodata when they don't have any info. Wonder why CBA sent him, he must be good enough to earn his spurs at training to play here in place of some of his better known seniors and juniors.

But, frankly,of CHN MS 2nd stringers and new cohort, not a single one lives up to expectations so far. A number of names, such as Guo Kai,Zhou Wenlong, and I can't remember who else, have all disappeared after a brief appearance in the international circuit, this seems to be the trend for quite some time. WZM's trip-up at the final hurdle of the French Open last Sunday isn't helping matters. On duty here are also MS Tian HW, Chen YK and Gao Huan, let's see how they perform.

Guo Kai will be playing in MS-qualification together with youngsters Shi Yuqi Lin Guipu and Zhou Zeqi in China SSP. Qiao Bin is a reserve only. Liu Kai is not in the entry list at all. Zhou Wen Long may be past his prime already. LYB may be relying on CL and LD as no 1 and 2 and one of WZM, THW and Xue Song as no 3 for the next TC. I believe Shi Yuqi may be given some exposure next year while Lin Guipu and Zhou Zeqi will be kept for AJC and WJC and given their chances the following year. Guo Kai, Liu Kai, Huang Yuxiang and Qiao Bin are all in the 21 to 23 age group and may still get their chances if they show improvements in training or do well in the China Masters or internal championships in 2015.
