yes. some how this whole cookie-gate fiasco resulted in me (and suetyan) to buy more cookies.

so it is a win-win for Kjeldsen's and Danisa, and lose-lose for everybody else.

Best f+++ing shortbread on earth. They shouldn't sponsor me. If you eat 5 you can take a nap.

How many badminton matches does it take to burn those calories off?!?!?!
The tastier the food, the more calories.
It'll probably take a marathon to run off those calories.

By the way, I don't actually believe in the theory I proposed.
Simply raising the fact that players really don't have to share their personal sponsorship contracts with anyone as long as they are given authorization from the association to do so.
I all for cooperation, but only to the extent that is necessary, then I'm all for privacy
As far as I understand, many sponsorship contracts have non-disclosure agreements anyway.

Regardless, my crazy theory and conspiracies aside, hypotheticals in this situation are moot. We will have to wait to see if either party does anything drastic to change the situation.

i bought one 2lbs can each of Kjeldsen's and Danisa 9 days ago.

I opened the Danisa first, mostly gone. i think there are 5 pieces left. the Kjeldsen's can top layer is gone, the 2nd layer should be gone before this weekend.

    i ate 75% of those.

it is actually not too bad. for me a 10km run is around 900cal. so a marathon would be just under 4000cal.

according to Kjeldsen's, each serving (4 cookies, i think that's a "tube" inside the box) is 160cal. so a 10km run i can eat 6 tubes and break even.

for Walker shortbread, each 5.3oz box has 8 servings of 1 piece each. each serving is 100cal. so almost the same.

    :D

    That is you :)

What I have seen so far of sports is that it happens sometimes but not all the time. I know of players who sign up with an equipment sponsor but can't even get the T shirts on time for a competition! So, badminton has a long way to go in terms of developing procedures. There will be a lot of variation out there. Here, we see players being naive in making assumptions.

Companies who have strict employment conditions will not let their employees do any outside work. But will sports people accept that?

I think I've found a reason to increase my 5 km jogs into 10km runs :p:p
Burn the calories so I can afford to consume a inhuman amount of calories.
As a international student in the UK, Thornton's chocolate brownies and Marks and Spencer shortbreads are one of the few things they do right here :D

If the ministry dares that, the DBA can claim official interference at IOC and get Denmark suspended at the Olympics....
Lets face it, under the current Sports Accord, national sports bodies are as autonomous as autonomy goes.... They will take all the money the Govt.throws at them, without being accountable.

Out of the 380 posts in this huge thread, I wouldn't be surprised if 300 deal with food and only 80 deal with badminton and player's contract.

That is correct for many sports, but I am not sure for badminton. In team sports, the private clubs elect the central comity, but in badminton who elects the directing body of the federation? If I recall previous discussion here on BC, the heads of the Chinese National team is dependent of the sport ministry, and nominations are made by the ministry. If we recall the conflict between Li Mao and Li Yongbo, it was the ministry who settled the matters it seems.

So far with DBA, there is no evidence of corruption, gross negligence, abuse of power, match fixing etc :) There is clear evidence of players signing a contract condition where they don't have the authority. There is clear evidence of negotiations, so there's is no compelling to sack the President of DBA for trying to look after the association as a whole rather than one rule for certain players and another rule for other players. Fan123 is absolutely correct.
