HSBC BWF World Tour | Grade 2 Level 1-5

The HSBC BWF World Tour is a circuit of 26 tournaments attracting the top world ranked players in singles (men’s and women’s) and doubles (men’s, women’s and mixed).

Players on the Tour compete in the 26 tournaments throughout the year gaining ranking points towards qualification in a race to the year ending finale, the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals – the best of the best.

The 26 tournaments are divided into five levels – Super 1000 (three tournaments), Super 750 (five tournaments), Super 500 (seven tournaments) and Super 300 (eleven tournaments). Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool is offered at the Super 1000 level.

One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers HSBC BWF World Tour ranking points. Although this level is not part of the HSBC BWF World Tour, it is an important part of the pathway and entry point for players into the HSBC BWF World Tour tournaments.

The HSBC BWF World Tour Finals held in December is the ultimate goal for players on the World Tour and only the top eight players in each of the five disciplines of the HSBC Race to Guangzhou Rankings qualify to compete in the season finale.

Now how will I do my yearly shopping of rare Yonex products from the super series stall from Siri Fort.

That's not Possible. You can't just remove a successful SS out of map.
:D

IND should have 2 tournament: Level 4 and Level 5. It's not showed up in the BWF table until now.

There are some possibilities:
1. The host hasn't decided the schedule yet.
2. The host has decided the schedule and propose it to BWF but BWF will reallocate into the proper balance.
3. There are some tournament in the same week (more than expected).

For the moment, IND and USA still not appear in BWF website.

the calendar is far from complete and finalized. note the month of august (when world championships take place) and december are not entered yet.

what you see now are placeholders. names/grades/levels will likely change once the re-branding is revealed.

So, there will be 3 GPG events before AllEngland in 2018 right?

Will be nice if there is some continuity in tournaments not like now where there seems a lot of stop & start.

In fact, if they cant do it, they should make it like F1, every 2 weeks. Of course, economically it doesnt make sense to fly back to home countries and go again.

and there is so called 4 Superseries in a row in June-July?

I think india will still be placed in April. Wonder why Malaysia not place in April. A bit weird to see Level 3&Level 2 together. Its better india malaysia asia championship & then indonesia thailand singapore

Grade 1 or top grade only for Olympics & World Championship (individual events) and Thomas Cup, Uber Cup & Surdiman Cup (team events).

I guess that Superseries Finals will be placed in Grade 2 - Level 1 (the only tournament on Level 1) above All England, INA & CHN's Grade 2 - Level 2 tournaments.
The pyramid shape is made: 1 - 3 - 5 - 7

No doubt, BWF will make the Superseries Finals on proper grade and World Champion still higher than Superseries Finals.

Anyone knows what the streaming situation will be come next year? Hope that BWF can stream more days/courts...

No tournament for india

USA GPG

Please do not use SSP, SS, GPG, GP anymore in 2018. It will make a missleading situatuin.

e.g You mentioned CHN has 2 SSP. In fact, CHN will host 1 tournament Level 2, 1 tournament Level 2 and 1 tournament Level 6

8 SSP for 2018? 5 in Asia and 3 in Europe?

Grade 2 Level 2 : 2 in Asia and 1 in Europe
Grade 2 Level 3 : 3 in Asia and 2 in Europe

Essentially it is the same for SS,SSP,GPG. This is really a simple marketing gimmick, which will not drawn new supporter to the sports

It's not same and as simple as that. Check the prize money offered by Level 2 tournament.

For comparation:
• 2017 Thailand Masters GPG : $ 130.000 ---> $ 150.000 (New Level 5 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 Thailand Open GPG : $ 130.000 ---> $ 350.000 (New Level 4 tournament in 2018)
• 2016 Indonesian Masters GPG : $ 120.000 ---> $ 350.000 (New Level 4 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 China Masters GPG : $ 150.000 ---> $ 700.000 (New Level 3 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 Japan Open SS : $ 325.000 ---> $ 700.000 (New Level 3 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 French Open SS : $ 325.000 ---> $ 700.000 (New Level 3 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 All England Open SSP : $ 600.000 ---> $ 1.000.000 (New Level 2 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 China Open SSP : $ 700,000 ---> $ 1.000.000 (New Level 2 tournament in 2018)
• 2017 Dubai SS Finals : $ 1.000.000 ---> $ 1.500.000 (New Level 1 tournament in 2018)

More prize, more elite players joining, more competitive. I will give a better outcome for the players, host and BWF itself.

2017 : Total 13 tournaments = SS, SSP, SS Finals (minimum total prize $ 325.000, highest prize $ 1.000.000)
2018 : Total 16 tournaments = Grade 2 Level 1-3 (minimum total prize $ 350.000, highest prize $ 1.500.000)

Confusing, World Junior Championships is Grade 1 Individual Tournament, and the World Championships 2018 is also Grade 1 but Team Tournament ?

And among all the Grade 2 events, there's no Level 1 , only Level 2 o 6 ?
