Let's talk about the players' ranking and points here. After the tournament is over, the world ranking will change. We can talk about how many points the player earn and how the player move up in the world ranking.

    Here is the WS ranking.

    https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/ranking/category.aspx?id=20905&category=473

After the SC, CYF overtakes NO with very little margin. Here is their points for now.
    Rank 1 - TTY - 96225
    Rank 2 - CYF - 90365
    Rank 3 - NO - 90336

As you can see that the point difference between CYF and NO is just 29. CYF earns more points than NO, courtesy of beating AY in final. Since the beginning of this year, CYF and NO have been going neck to neck, alternating their ranking from time to time. Their points are getting increased over time and slowly close the gap with TTY. They are also scheduled to participating in Australia Open while TTY will skip it. However, neither CYF nor NO can gain additional points even if one of them becomes the champion. That's because the points from becoming the Australia Open champion (7000) is lower than their lowest points included. Here is the elaboration.

    CYF's lowest points : 7000 (2019 Swiss Open champion)
NO's lowest points : 7800 (2019 Singapore Open runner up)

Now, I will predict their points in a few weeks along with TTY. This year, Indonesia Open will be held in week 29. Last year, it was held in week 27, followed by Thailand Open a week later. Thailand Open itself will be held in week 31 this year. Here is the prediction of their points.

After week 27, the points from 2018 Indonesia Open will be expired.
Rank 1 - TTY - 90645 (She will lost 5580 points. Her 12000 points from being the champion will be replaced by her Hongkong Open points, which is 6420 points.)
    Rank 2 - NO - 90336 (Doesn't change)
Rank 3 - CYF - 86585 (if she doesn't become Australia Open champion) / 87165 (if she becomes Australia Open champion)

After week 28, the points from 2018 Thailand Open will be expired.
    Rank 1 - TTY - 90645 (Doesn't change)
Rank 2 - NO - 88836 (Her 9200 points from being the champion will be replaced by her Malaysia Open points, which is 7700 points.)
    Rank 3 - CYF - 86585 / 87165

After week 29, the points from 2019 Indonesia Open will be included. Depending on their performances there, either NO or CYF can overtake TTY's position, thus ending TTY's reign as WR1, at least for a while, if that happens.

P.S. I just checked AY's points and the calculations after week 27. AY will lost a bit of points after that. She can't overtake CYF's position until at least 2019 Indonesia Open is concluded.

The potential change in MS after Australia Open.
    • CTC can reach the third rank if he becomes the champion.
      His current point : 79118
His lowest tournament points included : 6420 (either SF Singapore Open or SF BAC)
      His new point : 79119 - 6420 + 7000 = 79699 (surpassing VA's points, which is 79438)
    • Kenta Nishimoto won't move up in the ranking, but can maintain his 10th rank.
      His current point : 58533
His lowest tournament points included : 4800 (R16 China Open)
      His new point (champion) : 58533 - 4800 + 7000 = 60733 (his rank won't change)
His new point (runner up) : 58533 - 4800 + 5950 = 59683 (his rank will drop if KT reaches Final)
His new point (SF) : 58533 - 4800 + 4900 = 58633 (his rank will drop if KT reaches SF or SV becomes champion)
    • Kanta Tsuneyama can potentially reach the top ten, depending on KN's result.
      His current point : 58008
His lowest tournament points included : 3600 (R16 Hongkong Open)
      His new point (champion) : 58008 - 3600 + 7000 = 61408 (move to the 10th rank)
      His new point (runner up) : 58008 - 3600 + 5950 = 60358 (move to the 10th rank if KN doesn't become champion)
      His new point (SF) : 58008 - 3600 + 4900 = 59308 (move to the 10th rank if KN doesn't reach Final and SV doesn't become champion)
    • Sameer Verma can potentially reach the top ten, only if he becomes the champion and depending on KN and KT's results.
      His current point : 55939
His lowest tournament points included : 3600 (R16 India Open)
His new point (champion) : 55939 - 3600 + 7000 = 59339 (move to the 10th rank if both KN and KT don't reach Final)
      His new point (runner up) : 55939 - 3600 + 5950 = 58289 (KN's points, 58533, is higher)
    • LD will move up to as high as the 13th rank
      His current point : 51470
His lowest tournament points included : 3000 (R32 Indonesia Open)
      His new point (champion) : 51470 - 3000 + 7000 = 55470 (surpassing AA's points, 55299)

I am not sure if this forum can be used for throwing a quiz, but I will start anyway.

Here is my quiz. Will there be any change in the top 10 WS after Australia Open is done? If yes, explain how?

No. Because there is no change in WS after New Zealand Open.

Just my idea, I don't think much of it.

Australia and New Zealand Open are tour 300.

No, I mean after the Australia Open. You can calculate the points after Australia Open is done. Sorry for not making it clear.

    After week 28,
    Rank 4 - AY - 86550

    After week 29,
AY has a chance to overtake the three of them too :D

We will have a new Queen ?

If TTY lost in 1R/2R/QF of Indonesia Open :
NO needs to be in Final / Champion to overtake TTY
    CYF/AY need to be Champion

If TTY lost in SF of Indonesia Open :
    NO needs to be Champion
the other two has no chance

    If TTY in Final :
    Everyone has no chance

TTY has a good chance to defend her Queen title :)

Nice analysis! TTY can defend her position if she is at her best.

The players can't get to choose the opponents. They can only beat the players that are in front of them on court.

After the conclusion of Australia Open, JC will reclaim the INA MS1 spot. He will also reach his highest career ever. Here is the points after Australia Open.

    Rank 6 - SWH - 67910
    Rank 7 - JC - 66188
    Rank 8 - ASG - 66012
    Rank 9 - KS - 63140

None of these four players have Indonesia Open points in their own points. Both JC, ASG, and KS's lowest points are 5040. Here are the scenario for the upcoming Indonesia Open.

    JC (QF) = 66188 - 5040 + 6600 = 67748
    ASG (QF) = 66012 - 5040 + 6600 = 67572
    JC (SF) = 66188 - 5040 + 8400 = 69548
    ASG (SF) = 66012 - 5040 + 8400 = 69372
    KS (SF) = 63140 - 5040 + 8400 = 66500
    KS (F) = 63140 - 5040 + 10200 = 68300

SWH's rank will drop if either JC or ASG reach SF or KS reaches Final in Indonesia Open. If all of these scenarios are right, SWH's rank will drop as low as rank 9.

Her rank is locked because she applied for protected ranking. In case of her rank being dropped far below, she can still compete at high tier tournament using her protected ranking.

Any players can use that rule if they have legitimate reason for not being able to play. So far, the players who applied that have suffered a long injury.

as far as im undstanding the rules, it is only "top 15 places in Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles, and the top 10 places in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles of the World Ranking as at the week after the BWF World Tour Finals the year before the relevant BWF Sanctioned Tournaments" that can applie for protected ranking.

all rules is from: BWF Statutes, Section 5.3.6: PLAYER COMMITMENT REGULATIONS:

as far as I'm reading the following, Top Committed Players is defined from the rank at the end of the year(the week after season final).
2.1. Players occupying the top 15 places in Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles, and the top 10 places in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles of the World Ranking as at the week after the BWF World Tour Finals the year before the relevant BWF Sanctioned Tournaments (“Top Committed Players”) will be required to play in the following Tournaments occurring in the full Calendar year:

and as I'm undstanding this, they has to be "top committed players" to get proteced ranking.
4.1. Players who are Top Committed Players for the year can submit a request to get a protected ranking due to injury or other circumstances making it impossible for the Player to compete for long periods in the following way:

i may be wrong, so feel free to correct me :-D
