Can I wash my Yonex Shoes?

Hi all,
I sweat buckets while playing and used to use ASICS and Mizuno volleyball court shoes in the past. I used to wash them after every few weeks.

I recently made a switch to Yonex Power cushion 65 Z3. I wonder if these shoes are washable as well?

Thanks

What do you mean by washing?
Put it in washing machine? Flush it with water?

I use semi wet microfiber to wipe the shoes after end of session. Its fiber used to clean cars normally.

On some occasion i use old toothbrush. Dip the brush into water, swat the brush abit to remove excesive water, brush abit of soap bar and then brush the shoes. Then after some foamy soap after brushing, i wipe again with microfiber and dry it on open air temperature, not bellow sunlight.

We usually bring our shoes to the court and start to wear them on before warming up, so it won't be that nasty or need to be washed, all I do is just swiping the surface with tissues before put them back in my shoes bag when finish strech up. Besides, washing shoes it to some extent will decrease the time of usage in terms of shoe material IMO, I'd rather let them dry themself over night outside of house. ;)

I just mean can I dip them in soapy water and hand-wash them? That will take the sweat away!

If you concern about smell, try charcoal or grinded coffee (used one and not instant coffee). Dried it, put it in small fabric bag, and put it inside the shoes when not used. That would deal with the smell.

For dipping it, i would agains it. Glue and soappy water is not quite friendly. Wont immedietly destroy it but often exposure to soap would faster the process.

Try wearing badminton socks or thicker socks for sweat absorption. You can try fabric freshener before and after playing to prevent bacteria from breeding and if you have to wash it just wash the soles.

I use this deodoriser by Decathlon, will spray after every session then i leave my shoe in an open area to dry.

It’s a tough question to ask if a different model shoe can be washed. You don’t really know what glue is used within the shoe.

I notice in malaysia, many people will take off their shoes immediately and let them air dry rather quickly in the boot of their car and then at home, place them on the porch to dry more.

I don’t think wearing thicker socks will help much. However, changing socks within a session can help.

As mentioned, there are deodoriser sprays, and in addition, anti fungal sprays and deodorant packets that you can use for the interior of your shoe.
