I'm about sure that all four pairs will be in the top 16.

I don't think PBSI will take the risk of "outruling" the world ranking which would be considered as very unfair by the players.

Anyway, they will all be playing under big pressure tomorrow in the quarter finals...

Now that both pairs have lost in the quarter finals in Japan (worth 264 points), here's the situation :
    Sigit/Trikus : 2028+264-75=2217 points (worst perf : Taipei 105)
    Candra/Halim : 1881+264-0=2145 points (worst perf : All England 48)
(they should both be in the top 16)

    Sigit/Trikus have a "virtual" total of 2217-105 = 2112 points
    Candra/Halim have a "virtual" total of 2145-48 = 2097 points

Everything will be decided in Asian Badminton Championships!!!!!

another point is that Lamp/Boe are now virtually out of the top 16 and might not qualify for Athens (as third danish pair).

Looking at the points and ranking will be hard for PSBI to decide, but even if Sigit/Trikus have a higher ranking than Candra/Halim, I still think PSBI will pick Candra/Halim because those two seem to be more consistent and the whole Candra/Sigit split was to create a better doubles pair(which didn't). Also out of those 4 men, Trikus is not known to be a good doubles player.

This post could go into many of the Candra, Halim, Sigit, Tony threads but I had to choose one, so it's here.

Anyway, it's the AE2001 Finals MD, the final point to be won by Tony/Halim. What I find most interesting however is how RELAXED both Candra/Sigit were. It were as if they were just sitting back and letting the other side whip whatever they can and just flick em' back like it was nothing.

Can anyone upload the video somewhere of this match? I think it'd be a great game.

yes, you need to leave eMule running 24h/24! :D

I admit if you don't have an unlimited internet connection, this is quite difficult...

Oh, I do, I do. But the thing is supremely slow. I'm just too impatient to watch the thing... I guess many people set their 'upload' to extremely low, and download super high, thus nobody is getting good speed in download. Heck, someone is downloading at 3.5kbps off my PC and i am only getting 1.1kbps from 20 sources!

eMule uses a queue system, so you are probably not downloading from all 20 sources currently (probably only one of them in fact) and it should get faster bit by bit.
(refer to the eMule thread or to their official Help and FAQ for more infos)

    Final olympic points

After ABC, here are the final points :

    Sigit/Trikus : 2112+420 = 2532 points
    Candra/Halim : 2097+357=2454 points

Ther other top indo pairs :

    Luluk/Alven : 2883 points
    Eng/Flandy : 2757-192+294 = 2859 points

If PBSI respect world ranking order, Candra/Halim will not be going to the Olympics...

I have just finished downloading the Tony/Halim vs Candra/Sigit AE 2001 Finals game and what can I say but to look .
Simply marvellous stuff and now I am further convinced that Tony really is what a lot of BF'ers say, a truly masterful player of his class.

The games got me really  and I have to thank the person who uploaded it. Top drawer stuff.

Now I really miss the Candra/Sigit partnership!

Yea, Tony is indeed very fondly missed. And like what the commentators would say, he is really the master tactician. Now you make me really wanna go and dig into my tapes for AE2001. :p In fact, 2001 is really the year of INA men's doubles. The AE, Singapore Open, Malaysia Open, Indonesia Open, World Grand Prix Finals and ABC were all all-Indonesian MD finals and the different pairs took turns to prevail. Of course then there was the World Championships where Tony/Halim beat a sleepy Kim/Ha 15-0 in the first game and eventually won.

Hi Honghong, eMule is a peer-to-peer program which is used to share files (videos for ex) with other users all over the world.

You can find lot's of informations and videos to download in the thread Videos to download via eMule.

You'll need to download eMule program on http://emule-project.org.

    HongHong,

To help you understand seven's instructions:

    1. Download the eMule client program here.
    2. Once completed, install the program as you would normally.
    3. Run the program, leaving everything in default.
    4. Choose to Connect, by clicking the large lightning button at the top.
    5. Then go to this thread Video to download via eMule for the links to the files you can download. Highlight the links, starting from 'ed2k://...' and copy link as you would from a browser, usually right-click and select 'Copy Link' or something like that.
    6. Go back to eMule, choose the button at the top named 'Transfers'. Within the large blank box on top, right click and choose to 'Paste ed2k links'. You will see the name of the file, some sort of a bar with red colour that will gradually turn blue.
    7. At this point, just leave it to be and let it download. It may take some time to finish - mine took about around 2 days worth of time.

For your convenience, the video I downloaded was the All England 2001 Men's Doubles Finals between Tony Gunawan/Halim Haryanto and Candra Wijaya/Budiarto Sigit. It may not have Xia or Lin playing but you'll love it, it's a marvellous game!

    p/s - 7 Steps!;)

About 1 GB in total, 600++ MB for file one and 300++ MB for file two. Bear in mind, although you might be using high speed broadband to download, it may not necessarily arrive that soon to you because eMule uses queue and ranking system. The more u participate by allowing download from your computer (safely via eMule of course), the more points you get, the least waiting time etc.

So, don't be surprised if you have 21 sources, but somehow could only download from one and at 0.3kbps or less. Also, notice that people would be downloading the parts you have from your computer, but gradually the speed will improve.

Thus, I told you to just leave it there by itself for the next couple of days, coming back to check the progress once in a while.

    Patience... ;)
