Thank you for informing us that you won't be able to attend our CATS on Wednesday, 15-Aug-2007.

BTW, the chapter for that night will be Netplay. And this time, we will combine altogether the Bounce, the Tumble and the Spin, with the Swipe and the Tap.

This morning as I read my emails, I found that we have been given notice of 2 more dates that our venue@Waverley will not available. :(:(:(

Please mark your calendar for the following cancellation dates:
Wednesday 17-Oct-2007 (our 1st Wednesday cancellation since we started 62 weeks ago)
Friday 23-Nov-2007 (our 4th Friday cancellation since we started 73 weeks ago)

Just to remind everyone@ccc that tonight, Wednesday 17-Oct-2007, our session@Waverley is cancelled (gym not available).

I am taking this opportunity to visit friends/players at Albert Park Badminton Club@MSAC tonight, 7:30pm-10:00pm.

For those interested to come along to play with me there, please meet me there before 7:30pm.

Albert Park Badminton Club has a quota system like CCC... only the first 32 players arriving are accepted.

At supper, you asked "In Mens Doubles, when I am at the back, is it better for my partner to 'square to the left' when our opponents have lifted the shuttlecock to my forehand back corner for me to perform the smash?".

Answer:
It is usually better for you and your partner to retain/maintain the 'front-and-back' position.

However, if your opponents are skilled enough to attack your smash by their next stroke, ie driving the shuttlecock to your backhand back corner, then perhaps your partner could 'square to the left' to intercept that driving shot.

But when your partner has 'squared to the left', you must realise that if your opponents were to block your smash, then you are the one to cover your forehand front corner.

Good communication with your partner is the 'key' to the answer. So, say something to your partner as soon as the shuttlecock is lifted high to your forehand back corner before you perform the smash.

You need to indicate to your partner who should deal with your opponents' drive reply to the backhand back corner and who should deal with your opponents' block reply to the forehand front corner.

We will demonstrate this players' position next Wednesday 14-Nov-2007, at our CATS@Waverley.

An announcement was made regarding our Fee Structure@CCC... commencing 1-December-2007.

$5 for 1st timers@ccc

Our 'Eventual Wish' is a steady price structure of $5 for members when all of our courts are fully utilised, with no empty courts being wasted.

Our CCC membership for Summer, Dec-2007 to Feb-2008, is now due.

Existing members do not require to fill in application forms. Only new comers need to complete our forms.

Membership fees will be collected from tonight, 5-Dec-2007.

Last night, Friday 28-Dec-2007, we played our last session for 2007 at CCC@Waverley.

Our venue@Waverley will not be available for us for the whole month of January 2008 due to maintenance requirements. We will return to CCC@Waverley on Friday 1-Feb-2008.

However, we have found another venue to play during January 2008 for our regular Wednesday and Friday sessions.

A reminder that CCC Badminton will return to Waverley on Friday 1-Feb-2008.

During the month of January 2008 while we were @MSAC, it was found;
(1) For Wednesday night, twice the number of our players wanted to play @MSAC
(2) For Friday night, twice the number of our players wanted to play @Waverley

A decision has been made.
(1) For Wednesday night, we will remain to play @MSAC
(2) For Friday night, we will return to play @Waverley
