CCC Badminton: Where to go to buy badminton gears in Melbourne?

Hi CCCers,

I received an email from Daniel-H, a player who is new to Melbourne, asking "Where to go to buy Badminton gears in Melbourne?".

We shall start a thread to give the required information.

Cheers... chris-ccc

Daniel-H is wishing to play with us tonight, Wednesday 21-Jul-2010, at MSAC.

So I said to him;
At MSAC, there is a shop that sells shoes and clothing. But goods sold there are rather expensive. There are cheaper places in outer Melbourne suburbs, but I don't think you will find time to get there.
.

I don't mind to travel to the outer suburbs in my free time..

I heard there's a shop called Stadium Sports, where is this shop located? how far from the CBD?

I have been trying to find a place at the northern suburbs to buy a bag long/big enough to fit my entire racquet (and other stuff like shoes/towel), anywhere you guys can recommend? Google didn't help much, and i went to Rebel Sports but could not find any bags that met my requirements.

If you are near the Melbourne's northern suburb of Northcote, Sportsmart is one of the bigger stores carrying Badminton goods.

Here is a link for you: http://www.sportsmart.com.au/store_northcote.php

But, it is better to phone them up first to check if have in stock what you are looking for.

It's good that Stadium Sports continues to carry a bigger range of Badminton products

stadium sports get my vote.

It is good that Stadium Sports continues to carry a bigger range of Badminton products for us, compared to our sports shops in Melbourne.

I visited Stadium Sports a month ago. It's found that goods of other sports are slowly replacing Badminton goods in their shop space.

stadium sport got my vote for bag and shuttlecock, but for racket and shoes i still go for online shop (e78) form other country

and for stringing tool no store can beat mybadmintonstore, and for string itself i get it from a seller form taiwan (squash_mart in ebay)

There is a badminton shop along Clarendon Street heading towards MSAC. Been there once, they stock Victor, Carlton, Yonex, Mizuno and others. He can try his luck there.

Justin.
