Yes. It's the players lost. One elusive gold wasted.
Too bad. They have beaten the CHN XD No. 1 combo and gave them another tough match yesterday.Seen a social media post that Toh Ee Wei has suffered a partial tear of ACL.
if so, Jimmy Wong might lose a mixed doubles partner.
Should be a better player available than Toh for Chen to partner. Toh isn't very good actually, to me.It’s going to be interesting how the coaches are going to decide on this.
It is mid 2026. ACL reconstruction surgery recovery takes one year- you can come back earlier but risk re-rupture. Team mates Ng Tse Yong had the surgery but he’s not back yet. Can imagine it’s even harder for him having had double injury (spine).
Dania Sofea is about nine months post ACL surgery.
One of the options is for Chen to partner another player to at least keep enough ranking points awaiting Toh’s comeback. However, judging by the timeline, would Toh be ready for a comeback in mid 2027 with only 9 months for Olympic qualification? And that is assuming rehab and training goes smoothly without issues.
Can tang jie use his ranking points and play in world championship with another partner or does it only work for regular tournaments?
