21-10, done and dusted, Lin Dan is knocked out cold. Qingdao's journey ends today , thanks to Lin Dan and the the MD pair, Zhang Nan/Li Junhui
Short, Short, Too Short = everything from Lin Dan Huang Yuxiang hitting winners from where he was doing service tells you the whole story.
Seriously, Lin Dan has got to be more committed and willing to train harder to make up for his age disadvantage or we're going to see more and more much younger men capitalizing on their youth and fitness to press home their advantage
Zhejiang 3 - 1 Qingdao, I think this result is considered an upset for most people as Qingdao has an impressive team of players and, therefore, is regarded as the favourite for the trophy right from the start of the CBSL 2017-18 edition
As expected, Xiamen prevailed over Jiangsu, winning the semifinal 3-0 to advance to the final to face-off Zhejiang for the trophy. Once again, Chen Long wasn't in the lineup for Xiamen, instead it was Ng Kah Long who didn't need to play.
I somehow feel that this year, LD's highest level will only be a top 5 ranked player level. That being said, his chance in WC most probably will end at SF at best
However the WorldChamp is played in China. you can expect all the titles will be won by chinese players.
For the 3rd/4th playoff today, Qingdao beat Jiangsu 3 - 0, with Lin Dan defeating Xu Yiming in two straight sets.
The Xiamen vs Zhejiang Final starts at 1930 hrs local time . The lineup is not out yet, no idea if we'd see Chen Long playing finally, I doubt.
In the final, the trophy was lifted by Xiamen who stamped their authority on Zhejiang scoring 3 - 0 with Zheng Siwei doing double duty in XD with Chen Qingchen and MD with Liu Cheng to account for 2 of the 3 winning points. The other winning point was achieved by their foreign MS Ng Kah Long who prevailed over Lin Dan's conqueror, Huang Yuxiang. Xiamen Defang is the CBSL 2017-18 Champion. The best part is , they did it without their ace MS Chen Long who for unknown reasons was not featured even once throughout the campaign.
