VA has a chance only if he wins in 2 sets....but it is unlikely ........CL WILL win .CL will rule badminton world once more starting today....

Yeah, I live in China and have a friend who was chosen to tryout for the national team. She was denied because of her height as they have a very strong minimum height preference. My friend went on to be a champion in the amateur world and the coach said he regretted turning her down, but that's how strict the Chinese team is. The average height of a Chinese woman is more around 160cm.

By the way guys, I was in the stadium watching the semi-finals yesterday and I also got to meet LEE Chong Wei in person!!! He was super nice.

I wrote about it on my blog called badmintonbecky.com. Check it out of you are interested in seeing what the stadium and competition was like from a spectators point-of-view.

There is only one threat to CL and that is technology.....the rackets are getting better...and the smashes are getting faster....making it difficult to defend...perhaps CL will be remembered as the best and the last great defensive player. The next gen may not have such grt defensive oriented players.

My statement was obviously ironic. I know that Chinese women aren't 175 on average, they would be the tallest women in the world by some distance. That was exactly my point. Successful female badminton players are well above average in height in respect to national (or international) average, because in this sport height is a good thing.

And what was the result? Current top players average 175, the two most successful players of all time Li Xuerui 174 and Wang Yihan 178.

Do you honestly think football and women's badminton are comparable when it comes to height? Sigh, shouldn't have adressed this in the first place. Stating the obvious again: Height = massive advantage in WS.

wow, a Japanese winning a title in China Open. That would be a historic event. If you could just imagine the playing of the Japanese national anthem in a Chinese stadium... just wow....

Its not WC though, but i guess China wants to prevent that in NanjingWC later next year.

but then again, the Olympics at Tokyo. I also cant imagine playing Chinese anthem in Japan. Even though China will win other OlympicGolds in Tokyo but in Badminton, that will be historic too.

Didnt Minions beat them straight set at their last meeting in Japan Open? Ko Herry IP already have tactic and strategy to play the Danish evergreen. Its up to Minion to carry out the plan well on court. And Minions also beat them straight set here last year so they want to defend their title and secure BWF POTY 2017.

I feel if this is the 2nd week of tour like Japan/France (in Final stages) it is much easier to beat Boe/Mog but the 1st week of tour , they are still quite strong.

Akane's retrieving ability and experience is not easy to deal with for any inexperienced attacking player

But Li Xuerui could deal with her very well as shown in SC 2015 finale.
