Aww, according to this report,https://sports.sina.com.cn/others/badmin/2021-05-01/doc-ikmyaawc2941136.shtml, Wang Zhiyi sustained a right knee injury while trailing 13-19 in G2 to Chen Yufei and conceded the match, thereby allowing CYF to advance to the WS Final of the CNG'21. After that , WZY was immediately sent to hospital for check-up and treatment.

It turned out she was actually already carrying some knee problem all along throughout the tournament and had something fixed on that problematic knee, which she unfortunately aggravated this time, hope it isn't too serious. Anyway, though she's third in line for CHN WS to the Tokyo Olympics after Chen Yufei and He Bingjiao in that order, I guess it's game over for her now as far as the Tokyo Olympics is concerned.

Don't think it is very serious. She should be back for the National games.

A very interesting battle of wits between Lu Guangzu and Sun Feixiang - the latter one game to the good, taking G1,21-14, and leading G2, 11-8 now

Thanks, in the link I posted earlier, she was quoted as saying she heard a 'thud' on her right knee and felt her movement a bit hampered. That's why she thought it wiser to concede the match and get admitted to the hospital immediately (could be the coach's decision).

And Sun Feixiang went on to wrap up G2, 21-18, causing an upset and earning himself a place in the MS Final.

She played too many matches, all the way to the finals in the team event through to the semifinal in the individual event. Very taxing indeed.

Aiya, wasted, Li Shifeng fails to convert two matchpoints in the decider and even lost the deuce straight, 20-22, to send Lei Lanxi to the final where Sun Feixiang awaits him.

LLX is the more aggressive of the two and the better attacker but also commited a bit more unforced errors than LSF who defended better. At the crucial stage when two matchpoints down, 18-20, he went all-out, throwing caution to the wind whereas LSGF seems to play it safe waiting for LLX to make a mistake. But when LLX forces deuce, LSF sensing danger decided to go on the offensive with relentless smashes , which , however, LLX parried well and then counterattacked to go one up, and followed by duly converting it to victory forcefully.

Well, as the saying goes, he who dares, wins. Also he who hesitates is lost.

Yup, pretty (and cute but packs a punch) An Yu partnering the 'beastly' tomboy Liu Shengshu, what a combination.

Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan making their experience count, first 21-14 in G1 then a runaway 21-8 in G2 to clinch the CNG'21 WD title over the irregular pair of Huang Dongping/Tan Ning, the latter partner TN doing double duty in WS and WD as always.

For Chen Yufei it was her second national WS crown in a row, this year being the quadrennial China National Games and last year the annual China National Individual Championships. Well done, CYF.
