I really hope that Bao Yixin can get a better partner than Yu Xiaohan. Yu looks slow and heavy, and she made a ton of errors.

But they just bested the reigning Olympic champion.

Yu Xiaohan hasn't been playing many tournaments, I'd give her some time to get in the groove. She is a power smasher, though.

They won because Matsutomo and Takahashi really didn't play well. And Bao sort of carried Yu.

I remember when Bao yixin played with Cheng Shu, they were absolutely dominant. But Cheng Shu had a bad injury. Tang Jinhua was a decent partner for Bao, but also not optimal.

Bao should try playing with Li Yinhui or Tang Yuanting.

Those two possible partners you mentioned are pretty good, since Li Yinhui has Huang Dongping and doing all right, have to wait for Tang Yuanting to come back next year.

I wonder Whats the thinking for the CBA not participating in the Singapore Youth tournament. Its a wonderful opportunity for the Chinese teenagers to experience many different kinds of players from Asia. Its such a waste!!
Also, It is important for China to be together with its neighbours and not seem so "aloof".

A change of environment is good for her.

Agreed. Bao Yixin deserved a good partner. Maybe Tang Yuanting or Chen Qingchen will be good for her.
Yu Xiaohan is not bad, she has defeated Olympic champion in 2015 with Ou Dongni before.
Also Bao Yixin can be a good partner for Zhang Nan.

But Li Yongbo and his coaches have said those recent pairings that showed promise and have results to prove it will not be split, I suppose they want to avoid the mistake of reshuffling them too much as happened prior to Rio'16. So I doubt Chen Qingchen and Zheng Siwei will be split, they are already WR2.

Yes, Tang Yuanting when she's back would be a good match for Zhang Nan exzcept that she hasn't been playing XD much and she's more of a rear court player. Bao Yixin is another good choice, I won't be surprised she gets a chance to try out with ZN after he's done so with Li Yinhui and Huang Dongping.

Can't see Tang Yuan Ting playing mixed doubles. Would have loved to have seen Tang Yuan Ting and Ma Jin paired up.

Had Ma Jin paired with TYT for Rio, I am pretty sure they would have a shot at a medal.

Too bad Yu Yang had greater leverage than Ma Jin.

Always felt that Mark Jin always got the 2nd tier partners when she does WD duties.

Saw someone say on another thread that Fu Haifeng's father was Indonesian. Is this true?

Although I am a die-hard Zhao YL fan, I have to say that letting Zhao YL qualify for and go to Rio was one of LYB's biggest mistake in the last ten years.

    it is very sad..

No, the biggest one was to compensate Yu Yang for her London disqualification by partnering her with TYT. TYT deserved a better partner.

No. It was Yu Yang playing in Rio that was a mistake.

Yu Yang is a disgrace. I still cringe when I think about her 2012 and 2016 Olympic performance. A complete waste of a space. if TYT played with Bao Yixin or Ma Jin or Chen Qingchen, they wouldve won a medal.

The Chinese team focuses too much on physical condition, but not on heart or mental condition. Yu Yang had no heart, WSX had no heart, those 2 are the most cringe-worthy players.
