zhu lin might feel the phobia after the shuttle hit her eye. it's a smash! very dangerous and might get blind. Sheung Mo got partially blind after a shuttle hit his eye in secondary school.Cheung said:I've seen teh same thing happen in Asia Cup2000. That time Chen Yu hit Hendrawan in the eye with the shuttle. Zhu Lin didn't have it as bad as that time.

That is the difference between professional and weak club players like me. When the opponent is ready to smash, I close my eyes and hide or run away. I don't even try to take the smash in the front of the court -- too dangerous and I will not loose one eye to try to save the point.JaCk™ said:Zhu Lin could not play well after the shuttle hit her eye. Wang Chen smashed at Zhu Lin's face which hit her eye. Zhu Lin could not open her eye for a while.

I'm delighted for her, esp. her win over ZN. Actually,it looks like she's playing better now.In the past she's famous for her shoelace-tying routine as an excuse to 'rest'. Now it seems her stamina has improved. Perhaps she has put in effort to work on her fitness and stamina to extend her career.(That's why a few 'oldies' seem to play better as they grow older. XHW did that so she can continue to play badminton but regretted she did not work harder on that aspect when she was younger because she did not think she needed to or that it can make a big difference to her game!)And now with ZM representing HKG, maybe she will be even better with her as a sparring partner.winstonchan said:A warm congrats to our Wang Chen. Another "after 30 but still there". Well done.
