Hi guys! The only court shoes that are available here at my place are the following:

    Adidas:
    Downroar 2
    Uproar 2
    Vendetta

    Yonex:
    AR-82/85
    AR-90
    AR-92
    AR-95

I'm currently using the Downroar 2 and its starting to wear out already. Which should I get next?

i am actually under the impression that addias make good court shoes, in my opinion better than the yonex ones u mentioned. I have used the yonex AR92 before and found my addias pair superior to the yonex.

but recently i am in love with asics, think they provide very good support and excellent shock absorbing. After playing badminton for a few years i have found that shock absorbing is absolutely essential to knee protection.

anyway, its just my 2 cents.

Hi! Which Adidas shoes are you using? Can you make a comparative review on the Yonex AR-92 and the Adidas? Thanks in advance Toaster! :)

I am not sure about the rest but SHB95EX seems to be great for me so far. It looks great and makes me feel great when I am wearing it.

Adidas court shoes aren't great for everyone unfortunately. They really suck for those who have flat feet. And I've heard the durability on some being fairly poor. My personal preference is still Asics.

Unfortunately, I can't order any of the higher Yonex shoes here. The shoes that I listed are the only badminton shoes around. All the others are for tennis, basketball, running, etc. So, which one?

Hi lizamart! How much is the new Prince shoes? How about the Mizuno ones? My only problem is that I'm from Cagayan de Oro City and it will still be a few months before I'll be going to Manila again, plus wala akong pera ngayon so I can't afford the more expensive ones. :( :)

I just bought another pair of Asics Rockets ...great shoe, lasted me a whole season. Great shock absorbancy with their gel inserts in the heal. Not as torsionally stiff as some of the fancier shoes with the carbon fibre midsole, but pretty cheap, $89 CDN.

What is the difference between the Asics Gel Rocket from the Tactic?

Gel Rocket is cheaper than Tactic (about 30-40% cheaper) and the main difference is that the latter has the Gel on both the heel and the pad area of the shoe while the former only has it in the heel area.

I think the colors available is also different (the black rocket looks nice, but black isn't a color option for the tactic)

My budget is about PhP2500-3000 or about 50-60 US$. These are the current court shoes that I know of available here:

    Adidas Downroar 2
    Uproar 2
    Vendetta
    Yonex AR75
    AR85
    AR82
    AR95
    AR955

Which would you suggest? Im leaning towards the AR955.

    p.s.

None of the Asics or Mizuno line are available here.

Why don't you save a bit more money and when you come here, get shoes like mine...they're really good -- Yonex SHB 65 or 89 --- it's about 4,000 or something. i bought mine in bangkok so i got it cheaper. Has an anti-twist thing so it lessens chances of you getting sprains. Very comfy too. Important to invest in good shoes to avoid injuries.

    well.....

i cant actually remember most of the details between my yonex 92 and addias, but here is what I can remember as general.

Yonex is very light, u can move around the court with lightning speed if u got the footwork, however it doesnt offer as much support compared with the addias. Addias on the other side is heavier but offer more support.....
i also find that yonex is probably better for those ppl that has wide feet, i actually think the addias is quite narrow and therefore not as good for those ppl that has wide feet.

I must say i reckon that a good pair of shoes is absolutely essential, not only u can protect ur knee and less chance of sprang ur ankle but also u get better performance by slipping less on the court.

    hope this helps

Yeah, whatever you do, do not scrimp on your shoes. Buy any cheap clothing you like, but your feet need protection, especially if you play a lot.

I tried playing with cheap shoes and trust me, good shoes make a world of difference, if only for the fact that your feet feel less tired and worn after playing.

I would suggest you the get the Shb89 or the Gosen Sb350. They gives u both cushioning and duability compare to other shoes.. and its lightweight too.. you can try have a look at Mizuno shoes..
