Why would Yonex/Lining/Victor/etc wont make different weight of grommet for customizing racket balance.

The concept is kinda like E-Tune series, but instead an E-tune part, it use a general use grommet but different weight. Like maybe 3 type : standard grommet, light weight grommet, or heavy weight grommet.

With thing like that, if for example we buy a new racket but feel need more head weight, we can buy the grommet kit & put heavier grommet to custom it or via versa. The mechanism can be like E-Tune, adding few heavier/lighter grommet on top of the frame or bottom of the frame or all.

It might be interesting if we have those & not worry much if we buy wrong racket. Unless its totally wrong racket.

    Interesting idea!

    1) Especially that would be a lot of work to change all the grommets for very little weight.
    2) The cost at Yonex for one package is 10$.
    3) Most people don't have the right tools.
    4) You can't undo it quickly or just try it out like with the E-tune parts.

A little tape on the racket head is probably easier...

There is actually already in one way. Yonex has strips that cover the 7th hole to the 12th and extra U-shape on 5-6. I use them on my nanoray 900 and it feels steadier and healps the frame a bit on high tensions.

Recently I got a RSL racket with a set of 2-pair side plates, 3 top plates and 4 handle plates. Not many of those available these days.

The trouble with the grommet idea compared to lead weights is that you can't install the grommets or remove them without taking the strings off. And then when you've strung them and realise they are too heavy or light you have to remove the strings again to adjust them.

I guess it is better changing string than changing the whole racket to find optimum weight. Of course it's best if you can always borrow rackets to test.
It's Wucht P6, P7 and P8, but those are only available in some asian markets.
