watching a wd match on court 3 and there is no 25 second timer display under the scoreboard like on court 1 & 2. i do not see any other timer displaying a 25 second countdown near the court for players to look at. if there is, fine, but if there isn't, why not?

timers start as soon as the score is entered by the umpire.

This is really interesting with 25s shuttleclock.

There is chaos in MS draw,

Really like Meida/Nastinne. Their speed is blinding at 19 years old.

I dont see many 19 yo / WD in INA ranks as powerfully built as Meida.

That said, Scoreline fails to flatter their performance. they had 6 Match points in G2 (20-14) before losing 20-22. Maybe nerve, maybe inexperience. I think they will lose now. Some cool heads and they would have won 21-15 21-15.

Ginting started in qualification phase. He won easily. I enjoy his fast feet movement.

Thinnah and Tan escaped by a whisker by US pair which don't even have a proper association. Malaysian pair need to straighten up. Coming games won't be easy for them.

well, they will have an easy match next round

Hu ZA lost to Belgian player, not a great result. He hasn´t progressed well over the last year. China should start investing in Liu Yang Ming Yu more also.

Yeah. That was close. I think Francesca is a ex WJC silver medalist. But it shouldn’t go so close.

The second seed WD world no 14 lost to juniors players from Thailand.

Thailand are going to be tough competitors in doubles.

I watched them play. They have so much varieties in their game whereas Malaysians tried so hard to smash every shuttle they get. I am shouting from here ' slow it down' girls. But they do what they do best. Atlast escaped by a whisker. Did US team had coach?. I forgot to notice.

Yeah, Thai unknown pairs are so strong in WD and MD. Noticed few pairs playing. Really good. Why do I feel like exchanging some of our pair with Thai pair.! 😂

No the US WD pair did not have any coach advising them during that match

Nice win by Maulana/Jamil.

Honestly, Jamil just looks overweight just like many INA girls. This makes her movement labored. Girls in this country just dont have strong chemical makeup

At mid 20s, other countries girl are at their fittest.

Just give me fast moving, small girls like Paewsampran or young Misaki 😂

I would say Putri Wardani is the best looking female athlete right now in INA. There is a little muscle, a show of strength. In the past i would say someone like Apriani rahayu looks the strongest , then she got injured. Gregoria never convinced me she can last long.

Sometimes i feel this 25s timegap between rallies is unnecessary. Because i am seeing players taking time even longer than that and umpire is doing nothing.

I don't understand. Thai pairs are strong in MD and WD? Not sure of a MD and WD thai pair which has made SF 2 consecutive tournaments. Chinese Taipei, i think are the ones who have a very very strong base in many disciplines.

P.S:: Watch CBSL highlights and you will come to know, about quality the Chinese National/unknown players as well. There are many countries (including India) where unknown players play brilliantly, and don't often become known. This is the sad reality of professional sport. Only a handful are given opportunities.

Watching court 1 on YouTube.
From afar, I see the clock starts counting when the shuttle is dead and the shuttle landed on the loser's side. He will walk slowly to collect the shuttle and return to his opponent who then checks the shuttle, wipe the court with his feet and 25 seconds is almost up. Kodai, LSF and AA would struggle. 🤣

Oh..the timer is off if there are floor mopping or change of shuttles.

Malaysia sends 8.5 MD pairs to Indonesia Masters tournament, with 3 pairs dominate the top 4 seeded. They are growing talents now

I overlooked a couple of results from yesterday.

HK’s third WD pair Fan Ka Yan and Yau Mau Ying WR 54 produced a strong result beating the no. 3 seeds Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tung WR 19.

Jason Teh had a commanding performance against Ng Ka Long. The Korean coach is doing wonders.
