Yes. Group leader will face either runner-up of the same group/other group.

That's a privilege of the group leader.

This should be the best arrangement.

Doesn't look like CYN/LSH will qualify for SF. Unfortunate draw for them. They fare better against Juhl/Pedersen and Fukushima/Hirota rather than these 2 Chinese pairs. Sad since they were one of the more consistent WD players this year.

For what it's worth, even though probably not that much to TTY, but not sure how RI or CYF cares, but TTY decides the fate of who finishes 1st in the group. If TTY loses, CYF tops the group with her H2H win over RI since only CYF and RI are tied for 1st. If TTY wins, she makes it a 3 way tie, and that puts RI on top due to the 3 way tiebreaker rules. Either way TTY is out, but she determines who leads the group.

Umm so you suggest that BWF should fix the matches so that TTY automatically wins and plays the semifinals or final.

    That might be illegal...:D

To be fair, TTY has been vulnerable these past few months, having lost like 5 times already and pushed really hard by CYF.

Hope CYF does well in this tournament.

She will be leading the Chinese Women's Singles squad for the next few months at least.

No wonder SJH cant achieve something big, can she even smash ? She do clear lobs all the time in every match i think. One of the most boring player to watch among the top WS.. That super lazy movement, omg

Once TTY is back in form, she will outperform SJH

Obviously, CYF still has room for improvement, evidently far from a mature, experienced player yet, give her another year or two at most to be a serious contender for top spot. For now, she is also not mentally strong enough.

Actually, I'm more excited by Gao Fangjie , and at the same time, I've more or less given up on He Bingjiao unless she overcomes her glaring inconsistency, particularly her proneness to errors( painful to watch).

To borrow galaxyduo's phrase, TTY is in the zone in this match; alas, too late.

    Enjoy the exhibition match.

I must say, Intanon Ratchanok reads Tai Tzu Ying's game better than any of the current WS.

the line-up for the Chinese Women squad for the Asian qualifier of the Uber Cup 2018 has been announced. The qualifier will take place in Thailand.

And I am happy to report Gao FJ is in it!!

Thanks for the info. I'll be damn disappointed if GFJ is not in the lineup.

If CHN wins this in 2, it'll be a 3 way tie which will go down to points :O Which would be interesting, but the minions hold a big point advantage due to their 21-6 win over the Danish.

Tough for Li/Liu to beat the INA pair; even if they succeed, slim chance for them to advance further.
