    Fake Shoes?

Here is a weird auction of Yonex Shoes:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2919&item=3688504621&rd=1

The shoe doesn't seem to be genuine to me. There is no black fiber center support, no "Power Cushion" at the back, the Yonex logo is kind of out of shape, and the Yonex Logo should be in transcient orange from the center to background at the emblem, the side grip is also looking weird and cheap material to me

Here is the genuine shoes pics from Ants and me:
    http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13999&highlight=89+TW

And I think the difference is very noticeable :)

So, please be careful with auctions like this.

I believe that fake intended to copy the shb89M (orange), not the shb89MG

I believe it's a fake. I saw a pair of fake SHB89LX in my local club (was purchased in Indonesia, I believe). It looks just as "shinny" as the one showed in the pic.

That's cause in Europe, they use commas and dots the other way around.

    1000 point zero one = 1,000.01 here
    1000 point zero one = 1.000,01 there

abt the fake shoe, we do have a lot of those models here. It is a fake just a strip down version of the original shoe. I think it was name "World Champion 2" or something.

From the CNN article, actually the ball is the actual ball, it's the bidder that who is fake. But I still can't believe someone will pay 23K Euro to buy it.

    a Fake AT800

Here is another Fake AT800 racquet on eBay. Obviously, there are just too many spots that are too easy to see.

    1. 2UG3? You gotta be kidding me.
    2. CSC fat cap is not there.
    3. Offensive should be orange/yellow, not green
    4. Serials starts with 3815xxx should be something before 2002, even my 2002 MP88 is starting with 39xxxxx, but back in 2002 we have no AT800, not even 700 yet!

and there are others......too lazy to type all out. :)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3689675699

PS: Interesting that the seller stated the serials is engraved, I guess fakes are catching up. We now need to look harder at serials.

That ad highlighted by Bluejeff should be used as a learning tool to see how many faults a buyer can find.

What kind of a fake is it when even the colour is wrong

There are honest sellers on Ebay selling the genuine article. Sellers like this guy need a Bobbit.

The 2U/G3 is killing point. Plus the colour really makes it a noticable fake.

    Dumb seller.

Thanks BlueJeff providing all these knowledges to indentify fake racquets. But I wish the fake racquet producers are not browsing this forum. I think all these are easy to fix, and it will tougher to identify the fake ones. :(

It's OK, no matter how much they improve, fakes are still fakes and even if they are 99% the same, I will still try my best to find that 1% difference and bunch them in the face

If they can copy 100%, then great!! they just become genuine..... :p

    5. The frame should be Ultra H.M. Graphite + gForce Ti, not Ultimum Titanium
    6. The OF version should be Extra Stiff, not stiff....says on the shaft!!
