what a performance by fajar rian today, shame they couldn't handle their nerve at the end. fajar really getting the better of kevin in front of the net, he's such a joy to watch..always played the right shot, never exposed his partner, good awareness on where the gap is, and really good at changing the pace too..very similar to hendra setiawan. their defense also has improved massively, very solid...especially fajar who also really constructive in his defense. I can actually see them being better than kevin/gideon in the future if they keep improving.

silver is not too bad, and they should be proud after how they performed today...if you can perform like that against world number 1, then you're actually that good. believe in yourselves more fajar/rian, the results will come

pretty tough draw for fajar/rian in japan open. they met ong/teo in the 1st round, mads/mads or lee/lee in second round, then probably li/liu in qf.

I am excited that another pair has emerged at the top. Have they won a Top SS tournament yet?

not yet, malaysia masters super 500 that they won earlier this year was actually their first SS title. I hope they can win another super 500+++ title this year, 1 or 2 more titles would boost their confidence a lot.

Hmmm, looks like the members there feels disappointed that Fajar/RIan are unable to compete. They feel like Fajar is too easy to just leave Europe for his family. They even make a case like Berry continues to play despite his father's demise at that time.

Personally, it is okay for Fajar to leave Europe for his family. There are some peoples who put the nation above their family. But, the reverse is also true. Both ways are not wrong.

For the detail, just read their comment if you know Indonesian.

Am I the only one who think they're a bit overrated or overhyped right now ? I dont even think minions got this much hype when they won 3 SS title in 2016. fajar/rian only won 1 SS (super 500) title up until now and the fans really hype them up.

Yeah, I think many members here overhype Fajar/RIan. Well, not just this pair, the members here have a tendency to hype a player or a pair that can match up with the best player / pair. For now, I will let Fajar/Rian prove themselves and get some titles. People should not hype the player too much just because the player's game play / play style is better than the best player.

Not only the members here I think, Indonesian fans in general (especially from social media like twitter, instagram, etc) really hype them up. at some point I feel like they're direspecting minions a little bit too, especially after they won that asian games gold medal. but yeah, let them prove themselves first...it would be dissapointing if they can't win at least 1 more title this year with all the hype around them.

So do you blame LCW also? He skipped both WC and AG only because of some cancer cells in his nose?

It's different, LCW reasons to skip is very clear. Fajar reasons to skip a tourneys was unclear. If you follow Fajar's ig , He just posted a stories about hanging around with some friends seems very happy.

Well, so you directly says 'unprofessional behavior' based on your theory instead of the decision given by the organization?
