Feather shuttles

Well, I never heard of such a thing! I would wonder why only left feathers would be appropriate? I can assure you, we use both wings feathers. But we cannot mix them : right wing feathers makes right wings feather shuttlecocks, and so on with the left wing feathers.
 
So the right wing shuttles spin a different direction in the air than left wing ones? I always thought the feather went through the air in a anti clockwise direction as you look at it with the cork coming towards you.

the left wing feathers are curved a little in one direction, and the right wing feathers in the opposite direction. If you mix them, the two opposite directions stop the shuttle from spinning correctly. If you put the left with the left and the right with the right, they spin in the same direction. Both spin anti clockwise.

Both left and right wing feathers are used. But they cannot be mixed due to different flight characteristics.

And left wing feathers are used for high quality shuttles due to their optimal curvature and overlap.

yes, the best feather shuttles are made with the best feathers from the left wing.

does that mean they are going to throw away the rest of the feathers? of course not. that will be throwing money away. they will use the remaining feathers on the left wings as well as all the usable feather on the right wing to make other shuttlecocks too.

have you ever seen shuttlecocks (cheaper ones) with part of the feather clipped? yes? those are the sub-optimal feathers and they will be used in lower grade shuttlecocks.

Incorrect.
LIVE geese are used to obtain feathers. The plucking of feathers causes extreme pain in the geese, and millions of feathers are plucked every week... On top of this, most the work is done in places like West Bengal, where their abuse of children used to make the shuttlecocks is well known.
