Hello BC,

I'm in the market for a new racket and would appreciate your insights.

Currently, I'm using:

  • Yonex NF800 (1st gen)
  • Older Li-Ning HC1200 (acquired at a great deal)
  • Strings: either BG 65 or 80
  • Tension: between 24-26 lbs
I primarily play in the mid and front court, but I also need to adapt to back court play based on my partner's preference. As an intermediate player, I tend to shy away from stiff rackets, which may lead me to set aside my NF800.

In my research, I've come across three rackets that intrigue me:

  • Kawasaki King K9
  • Felet Woven TJ Power V2
  • Jnice Black Panther
if you have any other suggestions, feel free to mention.

Any feedback you could provide on these options would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm,

The felet/fleet racket has a really small sweet spot so I wouldn’t recommend that one.

The black panther (3U) is lovely but it is on the stiff side.

The K9 I am unsure of though

How do you feel about your HC1200? Is it easy to use?

I like your response with shying away from stiff rackets. I am more leaning on flexible to medium flex/stiff rackets.

I'd recommend checking out Ogkils. I just got their Water Breathing racket (Arcsaber 11 Pro clone) today and I will be testing it in a few days. Pretty good alternative than the real deal (Which I have tried already).

I agree with @Dlee regarding Felet's Woven TJ Power being more on the stiff side.

In my bag i have the Jnice BP 4 and 3 U, the Felet Woven TJ 1000 4U (not the power) and also the aerocarbon 4U, the Kawasaki Honor S9 4U and have played several month with the K9 4U.
Are you interested in the 4 or 3 U version?

Sorry for the late reply. My notifications didn’t come through to my main mailbox.

The HC1200 I got for free had a broken cone, so I epoxied a new one on—it’s working flawlessly now. It’s a decent racket for the price, though it lacks power.

I think I might give the Astrox 77 a go. Seems like a racket that’s just right for me.

As I’m a speedy and fast player (even though I tore my Achilles), I tend to lean towards the 4U versions. I might give the Astrox 77 a go—it seems like a great fit for me.

No worries, I would support that idea going for Astrox 77. I had one before and it's not too demanding like most rackets. I went to Astrox 77 -> Astrox 77 Pro -> other rackets... just to go to Astrox 77 Pro again haha.
