Mas win 21-19. It is a good outcome for our XD as we did not expect that they will proceed to SF. They seldom play together yet they produced good result. Well done, Mas. We had 4 semi finalist tomorrow. Good morning, Malaysia. I want to take my nap before going to work. See you tonight for SF. Bye!

    Back from the matches.
Very impressive Peter Gade and LCW !
Jonassen has done the job but I don't imagine him in the final.
Taufik won courageously, a fantastic match for tomorrow vs LCW. But he had a strange tactic vs Persson, and couldn't avoid smashes from Joachim.

Lin Wang wanted to make the point immediatly at the first set. One set to correct it and then it was a demonstration. I think she will win vs Lan Lu who looked very tired today. Great match vs Maria, but too many errors by Maria to win.
Cai-Xu were really brillant. the title for them maybe...

bradja23 ... It's great to have BCers at courtside witnessing exactly what's happening.

Please tell us more if you are there again today for the Semi-Finals.

Cos they are underestimated so there's no video homework so they have to navigate with no route map like the lost Apollo13 crew.
MAS XD can upset them esp if KKK lose the MD then he'll be hungry like LYD in OG08.WPT's a great partner for KKK cos she's so solid KKK can play with total freedom and that would be KKK at his best. I don't think they even have to train as XD to win.KKK needs to play XD to shake off the rust that's weighing him down from unexpectedly few MD match exposure due to early exits.Again doubt CHN XD has any video homework on MAS XD.Should be a scary match.

Hmmm, WPT also had to play WD, 2 matches before the XD Semi. WPT played all the way thru to finals last week. She may be tired.

KKK, should still have the stamina, his MD match is the 1st match. But the OG bronze medalist will be on their guard too,KKK/WPT arent exactly new parntership, just "seldom play" pair :p

Thanks for sharing your account of some of the matches..

..and good to know you were there watching the matches live!!
Btw, have you met our Hau-ge (huangkwokhau)?? He is there, in Paris, following the French Open..Not sure if you can make it, but I believe there will be a badzine party (maybe combined as a BC get-together??) today. If you're interested, you can send a PM to Raphy or Syaoran_Style or Hau-ge for more info.

Did you watch the OG08 XD final? LYD did 80% of the work;LHJ's job was to do less so as to minimise her unforced errors and overall damage.Same here, WPT's job is to be nowhere and KKK to be everywhere. In XD,this strategy can win but not MD.KKK has a lot of unburnt fuel, stored over from many of his truncated tournaments. So regardles of outcome, KKK should feel good and recharged from burning up stale fuel.

Recharged Koo may be, but I would not be putting my PAW on MAS XD. Although they are a decent pair, being part-timers puts them at a disadvantage. Would have been ok if they had more structured XD training programme.

But in the 2 years after they won World Championship and Asian Games bronze medals (Wong/Fairuz at Doha Asian Games), the MAS XD department is still quite underdeveloped. Even Singapore is better at this.
