Mitanis wins 1st set on Saina's mistakes. Not the best way to win, trying to wear down her opponent, takes a lot of energy.

yes, she has a solid defense. She can dive here and there and get up quickly  It's the Japanese style of serving high in WS, they can serve very very high

yep - and since WS-smashes from backlines are not that dangerous putting the opponent to the rear court first is not a bad option - best of all - seems that it works well for Mitani:cool:

I would rather to agree that Mitani has a solid defense. But she is not really a defensive kind of. She smashes and able to inject the pace at the right timing. Counter-puncher perhaps?

Mitani changes tactic but must cut down on her errors.

A superb rally won by Mitani.

there is an advantage of serving well high in WS, that's to make your opponent's neck get tired because she is going to return the shuttle. :D

Mitani is doing surprisingly well against SN. She just needs to cut down the rough edges and she'll be there.

what kind of 'special' do you expect? a salto after a shot is made? on this level they all move good, the question just might be 'who gets tired first?'
