To make badminton as interesting as possible for the children (up to 10 years old), usually we create games (not badminton game) which directed to the real badminton game.

The games are created with many movements which similar to the badminton technique. Like : underhand, overhand, throw movement, over head, footwerk, etc.

You can find the samples here on page 10-23. It is in Dutch, but you can see the diagrams.

Now I am looking for new creations.
Can you guys help me ?

Kwun, sorry I have posted this thread in Techniques/Training forum.
Can you delete that thread please ! And keep this thread here ?
    Thanks.

why not just compensate their small steps with half size court play, and retain everything else badminton.

    I see you're from Belgium :)

Do you know the concept of "Jeugdbadminton Plus"?

My Club got a B+ label, so someone had to go to the course
I went, got lots of info. Maybe you can find someone in your club or in your area who did the course

what we ussually did at my club was really more gamy than badminton:

-we played tag with special rules (like: only on the back) wich turns into chasse-passes and quick movements. i fthey still don't walk on their balls of their feet: say you don't want ot hear stepping

-get a lot of tennis balls: make the throw it against the (hopefully)-high walls. tell them they throw further when stepping in(doing a badminton-clear-step). don't do this too long, it'll get boring

-do windmills, or "round the table": the trainer stand on one side of teh court feeding one shuttle the at time to s series of kids standing in a row: the one in front gets to hit, then then gets to teh back: if you miss you can sit down.
do this until you ahve a winner. if your puplis are disturbing teh ken hitting(walk threw court) tell them to touch the net-pole after they hit, and walk backwards to teh row)
you can also do this with 2 teams of kids versus each other.

-shuttle catching: you feed three shuttles (or one) to a kid wielding an empty shuttle-tube (1/2-dozen) same prinicple as the windmill, bt now they have to catch it with the tube. miss=sit down
