Save your trip to Abbies... they have mostly soccer and baseball paraphernalia. The baddy section is pretty much limited to the top of the lines. Last time I checked, they have no CABS there. Oh, and don't get your stringing done there.
okay, my grandma likes to shop at parker place, so ill get dropped of there and make clearone my first stop 255 for a mp99 is not that bad considering what we have in victoria.. :0 and any recommendations inbetween g4 g5 3u 4u mediocre weight differences? thanks for your info everybody regards jc
reputable places to restring in Vancouver, BC hello fellow BCers I was wondering if u guys can list some reputable badminton racquet re-stringers in Vancouver, BC. preferably on the east side. thank u very much
There are a few stores I would trust my racquet with them, but it's easier for you to ask around where you usually play. Most regular players have their own personal stringer to go to.
The reason there hasn't been many postings is because this topic has been discussed many many times before. Please make full use of the search functions for: Vancouver, Tads, Abbies, ClearOne, and then terms you find from that.
Don't bother PeteLSD unless you can handle 25lbs or above. He does great work, but needs constant challenge to motivate him.
I hear you there wood_22_chuck..... My abbies stringing losened up very quickly 2 times in a row. Same racquet, same tension at Tads, held up for much longer (on the order of weeks). Maybe abbies's stringer's knots aren't very good.
Tad's is just an awesome store. They often deviate from sticker price like yesterday I bought a tube of mavis 300 for $12 when the sticker price was $13.95 ! They have lots of sales too.
There's also a 10% discount at Tad's if you're a Vancouver Racquets Club member. I believe it covers only shoes and racquets, but they extend the discount to me for some grips the last time I was there.
Let Gary from Tad's string it up - He's also part of the American Badminton Stringing Association as well.
I heard more about Abbies from Tad's since this was brought up and wanted to find out more. Their strining machine is not reliable since it's not calibrated properly which can explain the tentions and it was also a second hand machine. Also about the breakage, they were not mounting the rackets properly.
