Well this is a big name in the tennis world, they came to badminton scenario fairly recently (2years I guess), the Octane Pro is there is top level product I guess, frame looks pretty slim though

Has anyone given it a try?

Head has been a brand name here in badminton for over a decade (probably longer). But then a few years they sold their brand name rights to another company or something that I don't really remember.

As for their older frames, pretty mediocre.

This is strange. Decoy is right. Head was selling some good frames until ~9-10 years ago. Some of them had the best price/performance ratio on the market. You could by a Head Nano Power 500 for 30 Euro. A comparable racket from other manufactures costs about 70 Euro. Also they had the best factory stringjob I've ever seen.
And Head is an Austrian company. And here in Europe I've not seen a new Head racket. Seems decoy is right about this too. Head sold their brand name to some Asian company.

nowadays not a lot of manufacturers design their rackets (definetely big three (mizuno, gosen, redson) and even they lower level models out source), all the rest just order from big oem in china with their paint job :)

As far as I know, Head sells his name (brand licensing) for this Head Badminton. So the manufacturer is not Head itself.
