    Hi all,

I haven't been on this forum in quite some time. I haven't really played badminton since 2006 when I was on my highschool team and part of a badminton club. I started playing again recently and looking at the current lineups of rackets I am quite confused. I've been playing with my old Carlton Airblade/Rasmussen SuperLite and Tour rackets but I've been considering "upgrading" but I don't recognize any of the Yonex lines anymore. When I last paid attention, the Nanospeed line was new and the Nanospeed 9000 was the top of the range. What's Voltric? NanoRay? Arcsaber? What is a fairly head light racket that's less than 83g in weight?

    Thanks.

Edit: I should include my budget, up to $250-300 would probably be the tops.

The idea of YY behind their series was:

    Voltric - Headheavy
    Arcsaber - Even
    Nanoray - Headlight

A head light racket with less then 83g? Are you kidding me?

My Carlton SuperLite is 80g and head light. I'm okay with 83g which is what the SuperLite Tour is I believe.

Thanks for your summary on the lineup.

80g are not always 80 grams. Did you put it on a scale? You can measure it wet(grip and strings), dry(original grip and maybe plastic intact or stripped(no strings and just wood). Depends how the manufacture declare the measured weight.
I think that the NR800 4U is a really good racket, which should fit your liking. If you don't stiff rackets you can try the NR750.

    Hi all,

Looking for recommendation racquet. I have been using Yonex Armortec 900 Power, and finding it too heavy headed for doubles, and slow in response but great in power. (Playing double now) Recently I have get my hands on to try Arcsaber FB and Voltric iForce. Both are lighter racquet, much lighter. for control arcsaber fb is great but lack of power. and I enjoys voltric iForce's power but giving way to control. And both 2 racquet are just too fragile.

So seeking recommendation. What i'm looking for.
    1) Medium Flex.
    2) Lighter racquet ( 4U - 5U)
    3) Slidely heavy head / Balance ( Not as heavy head as Armotec 900 Power / New ZForce II.)
    4) Tension can goes up to 28 ibs easily.

I'm not particular about brand, Yonex, Victor, Lining, Apacs, Fleet, or others to recommend?

My budget, up to $200-300 would probably be the tops.

    Thanks.

    =) k

4U MXJJS (if you need a softer shaft MX60). Great Power, great control, great and direct feel, slightly head heavy can take 28/30 with warranty but I strung one JJS @ 32/34 several times with ease. One of the most rigid frames with good aerodynamics.

Alternatively, you could use DirectBadminton's racket selector. It is not 100% accurate so you need to take the results with a pinch of salt, but I still think it gives you a good base to work on.

BS12 blue in 4u may fit the bill.

Not the BS12. The TK15 sounds perfect.

Yeah. But it fits the specs perfectly. And that box frame can easily go 2lbs over warranty.

Yeap. Got a few hits with it last year. It fits what he's asking for. But in the 4U/5U range I still prefer my JS10s

Much better on drives and defense. Loses out on power.

I think from the picture below, what he means is that the mains and crosses are more closely aligned together at and around the sweet spot than conventional rackets.

Hi, according to http://www.badmintonalley.com/Carlt..._Racquet_p/racket-c-airblade-rasmussen-sl.htm, it is an even balanced racket, probably slightly towards head light, with a stiff shaft.

I am no racket expert but if you do want to go for Yonex, see if you can get your hands on (or demo) the arcsaber 11 (stiff and Even balance) or one of the nanoray's, probably Nanoray 800 or 900 (stiff and headlight). According to Centralsports, they have similar spec's to your old carlton. I would also suggest the 4u versions so that they feel similar in weight with your Carlton.
