The main thing to notice is that the way you prepare and the grip you use doesn't even come close to the practice you used to do in you garage. I don't know if you have stopped this practice or not... but before even thinking about footwork you should be perfecting the overhead such that there is no possible improvement except the footwork.Spending another 6 months practising the overhead to perfection will be worth it.

    Good luck!

Yes I have stopped doing my garage swings
    :(
I will go back to doing a couple hundred strokes per day.

In my view its important you don't make the mistake of moving on from the most important basics and then let them deteriorate. You will gradually be improving, but don't let the progress come at the cost of all the hours you spent addressing the technique questions you originally asked here. A lot of beginner and intermediate players make the same mistake and move on too early to focus on other techniques, when you really need to make sure the overhead is the most perfect and natural thing in your game.

Good luck - I am sure you won't make that mistake and will instead continue to improve and develop!

You lost some of the ‘lead the swing with the edge of the racquet ‘

Very obvious on the drop shot.

So, your ability to pronate on striking the shuttle has gone down. Less disguise on the stroke.

Ok , I noticed that too. I will try to work on that. I think by by making sure I use the correct grip and the correct starting point along with being further behind the shuttle will help with that problem .
    Do you agree ?

Had a decent night of games last night. I was able to practice some rear court footwork in between games which i felt helped me. I was able to get a little further behind the shuttle on many shots although I think i still need to be even further behind.

have a look at this forehand stroke. Your preparation stroke look weird like an L shape and not relax enough.
Also in your free time try to get used to backhand and forehand grip by switching the racket around in your hand.

I played many games with players that we’re much better than me which had helped me on my shot selection and also my defense but also has hindered my stroke work as I was under much more pressure

    Here are my shots though

I got to play 7 games with the best player at the club. Very fun night and because he was so good I was able to be on the offensive for most of the night. I feel like I’m getting better even though there is still much work to be done

I have watched your last video and I feel like you should be reaching much higher for your overhead shots. It becomes most apparent on your drops which almost always travel way too high (and too slowly). By contacting the shuttle higher you would definitely improve the quality of your shots. Try to focus on reaching high, especially when you have time.

I had a pretty good day yesterday. I was able to get further behind the shuttle on more of my shots. My last two games I played with 3 players better than me which seems to help!
My grip on some stokes was still to much towards panhandle so I’ll try to work on that next time

The stroke at 1:26 had significantly better shape and technique than most of the others. Keep up the good work. Agree about the panhandle grip.

Thank you! I’m finally recognizing that I need to be way further back behind the shuttle In order to even have a chance of using proper Technique. Getting behind the shuttle has been mentioned many many times on this thread but for some reason it’s taken me a long time to really get it
I’m going to continue to practice proper form at home with shadow swings and at the club I’m going to focus on:
    1 relax
2 getting being shuttle even more
    3 proper grip

Nice improvement. Nice effective drops. Next step would be to learn to do the highly effective fake smash drop.
