yah one of my friends got a 16, he is a cross country runner, one of the best in Ontario. are beep test only goes up by 0.5 increments. so its very likely that it may be different.
So apparently there are different kinds of beep tests. An olympic one, and a non-olympic one? No one has really been able to definitively explain it.
our one is similar but we just dont use the decimal point, so the highest ive ever seens was 145 (14.5 i presume) but the points we run to are at the opposite ends of our gym, which was big. My first time i did it i got 90, then i started jogging for fitness and got just under 120. also, you have something seriously wrong with your heart (or your badminton )if you cant get your Hr above 60 when you exercise. Exercising HR is not really an indication of fitness, rather your resting HR is, as how quickly your HR returns to resting rate after exercise. 60 exercising is too slow to supply your body with its needs during a match. that said, my friend hasnt moved from his couch a day in his life, and his Hr is 55 which is pretty good. Its cause hes 6'4'' and 19 years old, so the bigger your heart , the slower it needs to pump per minute, as each pump is ejecting a greater volume of blood, and more powerfully so it maintains blood pressure and perfusion ok. (all else being equal-hes not that heavy) I'm 5'9'' so getting my HR to 55 required plenty of training and cardio. Its all relavtive , so a better method would be like... `running times, or benchpress/body weight or something like that...
how much do your beep tests go up to mine goes up to 21 and i got 18 two years ago n that was the last time i did it
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sportacademy/hi/sa/in_the_gym/workouts/newsid_2100000/2100261.stm David Beckham can do all 23 levels! Along with Lance Armstrong.... Amazing.... I got to level 13 when i was 14 years old... doubt i could that anymore.... probably keel over and die at level 4 :crying:
personally im not very fit or quick at all and never really have been. Even when i competed at nationals i was nowhere near the standard the other players were and that was the main reason i lost. I actually had better racket skills and strong footwork compared to a majority of people there but i ran out of steam far too quick. When i played nationals my best at beep test was 11.9. Now after my year off id be surprised if i could make 11. It will be a different story by the end of the year though
