Bua own strings and hand to stringer? How comes your strings last so long and mine break so easily. I play bg-65, 12,5 kg and it breaks after 1-2 weeks. I play ca. 4 times (= 8 hours) a week with a AT-700 (feather). Now i am thinking about a stringing maschine, but i`m a student. Is it very expensive, do you need lots of time? Does anyone of you has a special offer from his stringer, for example because he plays high tension and breaks his strings more often than casual players? Or does anyone bought his own strings (for example 200m bg 65) and gave them to his stringer so that it would be cheaper overall? I mean 200 m bg 65 is ca. 70 €, so i don`t know how many metres you need for one string job...perhaps 3m? That would mean you could get out 70 string jobs. One would cost 1 €. but stringer here takes 14,90 €. So perhaps he would go down with the prize when i would give him my own strings... . If you have any experience or advice i would be glad...running out of money.
Lower your tension. 12.5 kg is over 27.5 lbs, which is a pro tension! If you're sure that you benefit from this high tension (and it's not just the vanity of pretending you're a pro), then there's not much you can do. Playing at 27.5 lbs, you can expect to break strings fast. If you intend to keep the same string type for a long time, then a 200m reel would save you some money. My stringer charges £6 for labour, and £4 for a set of BG65. He will charge me only labour if I bring the string. I'm no stringer, but string packs come in 10m. I think you will need more than 3m.
If TrueBlue does go down in tension, I would recommend it be gradually, in 1-2lbs. increments and not more. Dropping in tension too fast can be a waste of string. Just my experience.
I just want to cry! Normally my strings only last for 2 weeks 3 at the most). Then are strung at 28 pounds so that may be an important contributing factor. I used to think that I may hve been mishitting the shuttle but for as long as I can remember except on one occasion, it has always been pne of the middle two strings that snapped. Also, one of these two usually starts to fray round about the sweetspot before they go. Now I am seriously considering purchasing a stringing machine. Otherwise I am going to be broke soon. It is so expensive to get rackets restrung in Britain. Absolutely ridiculous!
i was using BG 80 but it kept breaking every 1 month so i went back to BG 65-ti and it seems to be lasting about 2 months now.
My low tension strings stay at maximum performance until they break. They retain playability even when they are cracking up everywhere. The only time I cut my strings is when changing tension or because the string is new and play very badly - that's before I realise some strings need a very lengthy settling-in time of up to a week in the bag. The BG80's I strung for the average hard hitters lasts for 3 months or until they break their rackets, which ever happens first.
Hm you guys really break strings that rarely? I break mine once every 2 weeks, using BG-80 with high tension though. I broke my Ashaway Micropower strings that often as well though. Hm, that must be somehow connected with the fact that which shuttlecocks you use, feather or plastic ones though.
Hi guys, i was wondering how long can BG65Ti @ 24lbs last if used for 5-8 hours per week? Also, how do u considered that the tension drops? What about BG68Ti? Will it last longer than BG65Ti?
One of my BG66 just snapped today, after 5 months of usage. (4 rackets rotation, I play 2-3 times a week, 3 hours a day, so it's not bad)
but BG68Ti and BG80 is having the same thickness? How long can BG80 last? BG80 last the longest? Among BG80, BG68Ti, BG85?
Yes, with BG-66 it does break that fast with a 3 racket rotation...I do much better with BG-80 and it's good enough.
