Hundred

Just did some general hitting, no games or serious drills. Hit with the Volta, flareon and Hyfonic.

First impressions:
Volta is much heavier than all the reviews. I use a TKFE and this is much more demanding. It has a very solid hitting feel. It was very pleasant and clean to swing. As a doubles player, this is just too demanding. I would say it punches as hard as an 88D, but more demanding to use. So I would just go with the 88D.

Flareon 700 is my favorite of the 3. Any NF 700/700Pro users would enjoy this alot. Most people used the 5U version on the NF700 because the 4U wasn't as clean. This racket is like the NF700 but with more overall power with no real sacrifice to speed. It has a solid string bed, mis hits are more user friendly that the Volta and Hyfonic. I will be testing this one more over the month. My only fear with this racket is far rear court power. I seemed to be clearing full court no problem but the NF700 if you got stuck in the back, there was just not enough power to do anything. So I'm curious how this one will do.

Hyfonic 7 is decent. I think it comes down to preference. Being a mostly Stiff shaft user, this one just feels to rubbery for me. My timing was way off because it whips so hard. User friendly on mishits. Nice to swing, in the same family at the Yonex Nanoflare series. It could be called the Flareon 600 and I would believe it. It feels like a less stable or more "child like" version of the Flareon 700.

All in all, they are all very very nice for a $200 price point in Canada. New Yonex rackets are pushing $340 these days. With some patience and time to learn the racket, any of these 3 could replace a high end Yonex IMO.

One guy at my club is a HUGE NF700 OG user. But the NF series is so brittle. He used the Flareon 700 for 9 hours and will be buying 4 of them. He said it feels like a better NF700.

have strung several Hndred/hundred rackets (cant remember the models.. ), on the rack and in hand, build quality is inferior to better model Apacs.
Havent played with them, but from a stringers point of view... not the best. strip grommets/etc all subpar quality tp the point that i just ripped them out and replaced with single pass.

edit. some one mentioned li ning. lower/mid tier li ning are built rather well.

Have strung many of the top end Hundred rackets as well. The Flareon 700 while very popular has an issue with cracking on the frame that frequently gets warrantied at the club attend. The Nitrix 70 series (Volta especially) is a very solid racket in feel and has not had that issue so far. The Hyfonic has not picked up in popularity as much.

second the build quality of the nitrix volta. just had one on the rack.. definitely a step up from what ive seen from hundred before.

Hi there, thanks a lot for your review. Do you think you can tell me more about the Flareon 700 in DM? I would like to know more about its stiff or medium-stiff like the 700 pro? I used to own a 700 pro 4ug5 but sold it because it lacked weight and made my shoulder hurt whenever I was using it and therefore I switched to Victor Dx12 ZSW and BS12 Pro and those rackets are medium-stiff and medium flex respectively.

I've been using the BS12 Pro for the past 6 weeks and I like it except the shaft is too flexible for my taste and makes me miss the 700 pro flex and at times the BS12 Pro just cuts through the air too fast whereas I like the swing speed of the 700 Pro. If there was a 3U version of the 700 Pro i probably would've bought it but its only for pro players so I've been looking for other brands that have a similar build to the 700 Pro but with more weight in the racket overall and still speed-based and even balanced.

I would also like to know how it handles the rear court as you mentioned in your review.

Thank you so much in advance 😁

I would say the NF700pro and the Flareon 700 are interchangeable. The Flareon is a bit stiffer. The play is near the same without the price tag.

Hey would you recommend the 3u or 4u version of the flareon?
I have a nanoflare 700 pro in 5u but find it a bit light.

how would you compare the Drivex12 zswing to BS12 pro , I have nf700 pro 4u and I've used 99pro 1st gen,88s Kevin Sanjaya version and now using redson shape esg I need some heavier and punchier racket with lot more resistance and power for single

I would say go for the DX12 ZSW because for me it was almost-perfect in everything. I can use it easily with doubles, singles or mixed.

Comparing it to Bs12 Pro, its an upgrade in almost everything. Swing speed is slower than bs12 pro but still fast enough for fast paced doubles. Trust me on this one. Power is such a massive upgrade over the bs12 pro or the 700 pro. You can easily access the power because it is only SLIGHTLY head-heavy/even balanced and the power is more than enough.
My setup is Exbolt 68 @ 27x29 lbs.

In terms of resistance? Idk what you mean by this but if you're talking about shaft stiffness then this is a good balance for me. Becus the shaft is medium-stiff and with the nano aerogel infused with the metallic fiber, it creates this unique flex that gives you this feeling that the shuttle will go where you want it no matter how much flex you do. Hope that makes sense haha

I also recommend reading this review from The Badmin-nut as his review about the Drivex12 ZSW is spot-on with what I have felt with this racket.

Hope this helps, and if you need more details flick me a DM and I'll try my best to respond asap haha. Have a good one and I hope you find the racket for you. 😁

I have BS12 (original version) and NF700 Pro (5U), and DriveX 12 Zswing. I feel Drivex 12 Zswing is a lot stiffer than the other two.

BS12 Og is medium flex, NF700 Pro 5U is stiffer than it's 4u counterpart but still feels soft and flexible because of the materials Yonex uses and with the Dx12 ZSW, it is medium-stiff with a catapult feeling because of the mix of Nano Aerogel and Metallic Carbon Fibre.

thanks a lot for the answer, what I mean by resistance was how well the frame cuts the air sometimes I find it hard to get my swing straight if the racket swing too fast or too smooth in this instance 😂, and I did read that badmin nut post I like his writing

Ahh icic, yeah ikwym. For me the air resistance for the DX12 ZSW is fine in most of the halls I play in.

For example, I usually play in a big hall with 12 courts so the air resistance is not much and therefore both the racket and the shuttle can fly normally and I don't feel any resistance with the racket. My swing speed is fine have no problems.

But when I play in a different hall, with only 8 courts and single-narrowed with a lower roof, then the air becomes a bit thick and the shuttle flies differently /slower than what I'm used to. The Dx12 ZSW in this slow condition is okay to use still, just gotta adjust a bit and get used to the hall and should be fine.

The only time the Dx12 ZSW air resistance felt weird for me was when I was playing in a multi-purpose big stadium and the racket felt like it was slightly slower to bring up compared to the other halls/conditions I mentioned before.

The frame of the Dx12 ZSW is not like a standard box frame, more like semi-aero if that makes sense. Like the curvature inside the frame isn't like any Yonex Astroxs or ArcSabers, its like tuned-down version of a Nanoflare but frame isnt as thick. Look up the images online and you'll see what I mean haha.

Well its been a while since this thread started but I am surprised to see that no one has even mentioned that the hyfonic frame is the exact copy of the turbocharging frame of Li ning. This brand is going to go the distance as it is combining features of Li Ning Yonex and delivering at such a jaw dropping price point. I am really interested in the Hyfonic 7 Flareon 700 and the Nanopower 700. M40x carbon at such prices is outrageous
