There is the little glimmer of hope from a non badminton country.I just glance at the day's results, Kirsty Gilmour lost in straight sets to Turkish Demirbag, 19-21.15-21 !
He is one of the top if not the top most physical player. If he would vary his games or have half of TTY's technical skills, he could be the very best. The best players do not waste time in three game matches in early or easy rounds and conserve their energy for the real battles. He should have easily won the French open if not for the many gruelling matches he had tournaments after tournaments. He needs a technical coach on his side.Chou Tien Chen never rests.
i guess GLY/CPS era is over. their performance is deteriorating.
their peak should be olympic rio silver. they were quite consistent some time ago. i think it's going downwards since they left BAM?Was there even an era? If there were, it ended when CPS shouted loudly when he jumped smash.

Naraoka Kodai seems to have beaten Ygor Coelho quite comfortably to progress to R2. His next opponent, most likely Rasmus Gemke, may well prove more of an obstacle, though.
