    With Liliyana absence we only depends on Fran/Pia, not so sure INA will field Tontowi/Debby against MAS. RUS XD also isn't bad, tough journey for INA squad to be top-position of group-stage.

    Yup, I don't believe this LIVE program will gain low rating since badminton is #2 popular sport in INA after football ;)

    Indonesia Badminton: Dim Hopes for Starless Team

    Ami Afriatni | May 20, 2011

    Judging by its star-deprived lineup, Indonesia might have to wait a little longer to break its Sudirman Cup drought.

    The world mixed-team championship will begin in China on Sunday without Indonesia’s top shuttlers in the fold.

    The absence of big names such as former world and Olympic men’s singles champion Taufik Hidayat has created a vacuum in the team, which the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) hopes can be filled by younger players.

    “There’s always a positive side to everything,” Hadi Nasri, PBSI head of athletes’ development, said on Friday. “Now the younger shuttlers will have a chance to play in a big international tournament, which will be a great experience for them.”

    “Ready or not, they must take this huge responsibility,” he added. “All we want is for them to show good fighting spirit every time they play. The results will come second.”

    Bona/Ahsan & Hendra/Alvent are on the same level.. but PBSI will give Bona/Ahsan bigger opportunity to play, to get experience n point to Olympic games 2012..

    But the age of Indonesian team (average) is younger than several other countries
    INA = 24.3
    CHN = 24.9
    MAS = 24.7
    THA = 24.5
    DEN = I don't know but i believe that DEN is the oldest team here :D

    Frans Kurniawan/Pia bernadet more better now, right.
    its a good chance for them to be a star in indonesian team after this coutry loss the best XD ever Widianto/natsir.
    Tontowi/debby did not have rank in BWF i think. and INA has to win all of the games to lead the group, so Fran/Pia shall to make it.

    Badminton is not popular in many countries, is it.? (especially for tv station :D)
    in korea when the woman team take the uber cup from china, their people did not watch live in tv because there were not the game in tv station. but after it, the tv show the game in delay hours. poor korea.. hammer.gif

    Taufik Hidayat (World Champion 2005), Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (World Champion 2007), Liliyana Natsir (World Champion 2005 & 2007 with Nova Widianto).. Now in Indonesia team, we don't have former World Champions Participate.. Just Hope the Spirit of Champion still in our team..
    Maju terus Merah Putih..

    Yep, INA beat RUS 4-1.

    Grey/Mel looks impressive... beat Nina/Valeria 21-3 21-18.

    If their opponents are smashing, better if Grey/Mel just lift it as high as possible, so its not so risky for their opponents to make a quick interception in the net.

    pia's footstep looks "heavy", and fran made too many unforced errors and bad "return shot"

    i think they are nervous :D

    That's the problem with debutants. Pia isn't really a debutant in team event, but Fran is, and I heard Fran made many unforced errors.
