India Badminton

Prime Minister speaking to the boys, this can sound like PR stuff but I think stuff like this motivates the player to train harder.

LS: Mamaste Sir, How are you ? (haha what a kid)

I don't think he does this just for the sake of PR stuff. He did the same during the Olympics as well. Anything which can help motivate our players further is a welcome move :)

Haha politicians can gain brownie points out of anything. Regardless, this type of stuff only motivates the players to do well in future. It must be a great feeling for players to talk to PM

Why ? I don't see any wrong in it unless and until the post is very personal. If some constructive criticism is done to tell that things aren't what the player thinks, then we can say that. And we know what was happening at that time bro. There was a delusional feeling at that time.

As the person learns from his mistakes and olays proactively, I think it's a great thing. And fans like you and me are acknowledging what Srikanth have achieved.

I sincerely believe constructive criticism is a part of supporting a player.
It's okay to criticize as long as no derogatory language is being used. I think we all only do that because we want our players to reach greater heights and only wish well for them. We sometime write stuff because we are running high on emotions, stuff which we don't even mean but post in the heat of the moment. That's what sport do to you. But we equally show our respect and love for them when they achieve something. That's the beauty of the sports.
Agree that we can criticise players when we feel they do not playing well. I just mean after today's performance I forgive all his past mistakes :D:D

Can we say now say that India is a big badminton nation now?
Like - can we say that India is at least a top 7 nation in badminton? Or may be even top 5?
I mean we have been medaling at Olympics/WC for the last 10 or so years without fail. 2 bronzes in Uber cup was also won during this time. And now we have a Thomas cup gold.

This was nice. He wrote whatever he was having inside his mind for these many years. He loves Badminton to the core. He praised Saina and Sindhu and also mentioned their mind when coming to Team event etc. One point to be noted is about participation of Saina and Sindhu in Team events. It seems like if one participate, other wont participate .
I wonder what is the role of BAI in that case. They wont force them to play?

Maybe somewhere in between, but we are getting closer imo. I think the women's team still needs a lot of work. The men's team atleast looks stable and have a lot of reliable faces.
