Prime Minister speaking to the boys, this can sound like PR stuff but I think stuff like this motivates the player to train harder.
LS: Mamaste Sir, How are you ? (haha what a kid)
I don't think he does this just for the sake of PR stuff. He did the same during the Olympics as well. Anything which can help motivate our players further is a welcome move
This is a great read. Thanks for sharing.
Haha politicians can gain brownie points out of anything. Regardless, this type of stuff only motivates the players to do well in future. It must be a great feeling for players to talk to PM
Lakshya Sen had food poisoning at Bangalore airport and was not fit to play any of the Thomas cup matches. He sacrificed himself for the sake of the team. If Srikanth had to play MS1 against Malaysia or Denmark India may not have been in the final.
Agree that we can criticise players when we feel they do not playing well. I just mean after today's performance I forgive all his past mistakes
Pullela Gopichand on Indian Victory and Indian Badminton
Amazing pen up by Gopichand. You could feel each and every line.
It’s not a dream India dreamt actively, but now the country will live the dream with these amazing players.
Vimal Kumar India's team spirit and doubles crucial factors to India's success. Hopes this win will spur badminton craze as 1983 cricket World Cup win did for cricket.
Can we say now say that India is a big badminton nation now?
Like - can we say that India is at least a top 7 nation in badminton? Or may be even top 5?
I mean we have been medaling at Olympics/WC for the last 10 or so years without fail. 2 bronzes in Uber cup was also won during this time. And now we have a Thomas cup gold.
Indian players going to play Thailand open?
Heartfelt from KS, he has that cool vibe as captain, similar to his fav MSD.
He won PBL as well as captain.
This was nice. He wrote whatever he was having inside his mind for these many years. He loves Badminton to the core. He praised Saina and Sindhu and also mentioned their mind when coming to Team event etc. One point to be noted is about participation of Saina and Sindhu in Team events. It seems like if one participate, other wont participate .
I wonder what is the role of BAI in that case. They wont force them to play?
Maybe somewhere in between, but we are getting closer imo. I think the women's team still needs a lot of work. The men's team atleast looks stable and have a lot of reliable faces.
