All indicators say that this time the INA National Team will let Taufik go if he cannot follow the terms set... Taufik will still be a member of PBSI but not the INA National Team...

PBSI should be fair in this case, no more exclusivity for any player.

Even if he goes 'ngambek' and decides to play for, uh, Singapore (just like what he intended to do back then)?

If that's the case, all I've to say is don't let the door hit you on your way out. :p

There is that possibility.... ;) But I won't advise them to just play one discipline... More money if they play 2 disciplines... XD and WD...

Anyway, with Vita and Lily already part of the National Team's XD, they may at anytime play together as part of the National Team's WD too... ;)

PBSI has to be brave to make a new combination.. Change the underachievement pair. Give them chance to go to tournament to get many experience.

Premise 1: Taufik will join Pelatnas only and only if Mulyo is recruited as coach.
Premise 2: In an interview by MetroTV, Mulyo stated that he won't join Pelatnas as coach.
(But he will act as, according to him, a mediator between Taufik and PBSI)

    Conclusion?

    ^^Conclusion??..^^

    ...my gut feeling is:

Premise 3: Go back to Premise 1 (which is nothing more than an excuse from Taufik). Unless a miracle happens & Taufik decides to join Pelatnas w/out Mulyo being part of Pelatnas.

At this point, it looks like: there is a 95% chance that Taufik will not be in the INA National Team of 2009... Pak Joko will not back down for the sake of Taufik or Kido-Hendra or Nova or anyone. Follow the current National Team demands [which are already logical and fair] or become professional free agents, guys. Your choice! The National Team is ready to start fresh with young players... Don't mess with the INA Armed Forces' 5 star general...

So, General Joko Susanto's new regime starts with one SS title in the Malaysia Super Series 2009. I will think that this is a very good achievement considering the fact that the new Pelatnas just started last week and that many top players (like Kido/Hendra and Sony in particular) are either still not in form or are still nursing injuries.

Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir once again confirm that they are still a force to be reckoned with and proved that with yet another Super Series title in Malaysia. They will still be a major contender for the All England and World Championships 2009, the two major individual championships this year. They are expected to contribute a point in the Sudirman Cup 2009, which is not easy especially when facing countries like England (with Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg), Korea (Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung), Denmark (Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter Juhl or Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen), and China (He Hanbin/Yu Yang or Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen). Those pairs listed will also be the pairs to watch out for in their bids for the individual majors.

I also hope that Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati and Mohd Rijal/Vita Marissa can start to win some SS titles to share the burden with Nova/Butet. I do have high hopes on Fran/Shendy in the next few years.

In the MD, its good to see another experienced but newly formed pair Hendra A. Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto rising to the ocassion this week. They need to be able to show consistency in reaching later rounds of tourneys and hopefully, they can win a couple of GP or GP Gold titles, if they are permitted to compete in these tourneys. I feel that they are more ready than Rendra Wijaya/Joko Riyadi to compete against the big boys and both Alvent and AG should have no problems rising to the top 10 yet again.

An unfit Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan will be a threat to INA's aim of winning the Sudirman Cup this year, so, I hope they are more selective in their tournament participation. The major target will be the same as Nova/Butet: All England and World Championships 2009, and the Sudirman Cup.

High hopes are also placed upon Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki and Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan. They also need to start winning tournaments.

In the WD, Meilana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati have shown that they are capable of taking over the mantle as INA's no 1 WD. With more playing hours against the top WD pairs like Yang/Zhang (this week) and Chien/Cheng (next week), they are expected to consolidate their ranking and hopefully win a GP Gold or SS title this year.

I do think that Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir are due a break....esp with their uninspired and tired performances in recent months. They are expected to also contribute in the Sudirman Cup campaign, so, priorities in tournaments participation will also be important for them. As for Nitya Krishinda/Greysia Polii, I think the best way to blood them will be to send them to GP and GP Gold tourneys first.

..the MS and WS dept.??...are they unaccounted for??..
But if INA can win those 3 events in the Sudirman Cup, heck, who needs the MS & WS, right??....;)

The MS and WS (esp Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Maria Kristin Yulianti) have yet to make an impact yet for me to write anything abt them.

Both players have a chance of winning pts when facing Denmark and Korea; but, if they are pitted against Lee Chong Wei or Lin Dan in the MS; or any CHN player in the WS, they are not expected to contribute any pt. INA WS players will always have a fighting chance against MAS's WS, esp with Wong Mew Choo's injury.

If INA is to regain the Sudirman Cup, the strategies they have to employ against the top opponents:
CHN -- MD and XD have to be won; while the other pt will have to be fought from either WS and WD.
KOR -- MS, WS, and either XD or MD.
DEN -- MS, MD, WD, and XD can all contribute pts
MAS -- XD will have to be won; while the other 2 pts can come from WS, MD or WD

SDK shows poor performance lately after created remarkable achievement to win three SS titles last year. He must do hard work to balance the current top-two MS, LCW and LD.

The main worry here about Sony and Maria is that they are injury-prone. Could be part of how they approach the game (a lot of hard running, diving and retrieving, for example).

If their physique (mainly knees and legs) cannot handle this or be further strengthened to reduce chances of injury, maybe their on court tactics should be changed. Malaysia is having the same issue with WMC, which is why Misbun is trying to develop her game to be more attack oriented instead of long rallies.

I don't buy that. England can get 1 point from XD and maybe another from MD....but where can they get the third point from?

INA needs to strengthen the WD. Between WS and WD, INA'll have better chance to steal WD from China (don't think Maria will regain her form in time for Sudirman...judging from her knee injury).
