may i ask you all ? i want to know about the different qualifying rounds (date= 17) with the championship events (date=18) ? what is the different? my friend said at 17 June the players are different with the others who plays at 18 June . is it true ? and what the difference of MS Qualification with 'MS' ? because the players are different too >.< please , i need the info ... thanks *sorry if my english is soooo bad *
Qualification/Qualifying round (Pusingan Kelayakan) just means the players on 17 June must play to win 4 spots to main draw. That's "MS Qualification", most of these are younger players whose World ranking is lower. The top 28 players in World ranking get into main draw. The others have to fight for the remaining 4 places. That makes it 32 players. 18 June onwards is main draw = "MS". Same goes for "MD" & MD qualification. The seeding is according to World ranking. http://internationalbadminton.org/ranking_ms.asp?id=1
