    Hi,

Am a parent of a 10 year old boy who is training for competetive badminton. I have been in search of books on badminton which can help him learn or get inspired from. Any pointers?

If you feel there are some good books from other sports as well please do suggest.

    Hoping for some quality feedback.

    Thanks

    A

For you, as a parent I will recommend these books:
    1. "Promice at dawn" by Romain Gary
    2. "Open" by Andre Agassi
    3. "Unstoppable: My Life So Far" by Maria Sharapova

Contact me in private in you need help to find these books in epub ;)

Is it more technique/tactics that you are after or inspiration e.g interesting reads?

Some of the technique/tactics books really are a chore to read through if you're not already very keen to improve after all!

Definitely, don't miss this. By Timothy Gallwey. The definitive book on how to be able to control yourself to play at your best. But not sure if a 10 year old can fully comprehend it.

That's why I asked if it's technique or inspiration he's after - Inner Game of Tennis is a great book, but to be perfectly honest, it's quite a dry read if you're not interested already. 10 year old might also have issues with the Tennis parallel.

I have read many sports books and also badminton books and here is my absolute favorite:
Becoming a Supple Leopard 2nd Edition: The Ultimate Guide to Resolving Pain, Preventing Injury, and Optimizing Athletic Performance
    https://www.amazon.com/Becoming-Sup...preST=_SX218_BO1,204,203,200_QL40_&dpSrc=srch

    - How do I sit, stand and walk correctly?
    - How do I do sports exercises (push-ups, squats, etc.) correctly?
    - How do I correct errors (pelvic misalignment)?
    - A very good program for mobilization exercises.

Especially badminton with the one-sided strain inevitably results in physical problems. As a side effect, you become faster, more resilient and stronger on court! Therefore, this book is doubly important!

Kelly Starrett is an incredibly knowledgable guy. I watched so many of his videos years ago, and he's probably influenced my choice to go into the fitness industry route.

Didn't know he had a book, on my wish list, thanks!

'Zen in the Art of Archery' by Eugen Herrigel. No mention of Badminton of course, but if you 'get' this sort of thing, then this book could change your game in more ways than one.
