    Hi all,

Some big exits and some big matches lined up in MS!

Hafiz, all england Champion is OUT! Lost to Chen Yu. Chen now goes on to play Taufik Hidyat of Indonesia.
Hendrawan went out first round and Gade is through to play Lee Il, a revenge match on the cards i feel. Marleve Mainaky is playing Xia while Roslin Hashim is through to play no other than, Chen Hong. Some cracking line ups!!

In the MD the best line up of all, Ha and Kim play Candra and Sigit, thats going to be one great match that could prove who the world champs could be. Robertson and Clark are through to play Cheng and Chen. Lin and Lee play Limpele and Hian. Lee and Yoo play Sogaard and Laugesen while Eriksen and Hansen take on Sang and Zheng. Another bunch of cracking line ups!!

In the XD, Robertson and Emms play the nemesis of the great Kim Dong Moon with his parter Ra, while BC buddy, Rasmussen, with his parter Olsen, are through comfotably to play a Thailand pair (i wont write their names because their too long!)

    Matt,
Wondering what's wrong to the link to MS, no results updated... only the draw frame appears.
No problem for MD, full results available.

    No!!!!!!!!!

Bao Chunlai lost in the first round to Chien of Tapei!!!
Chen Yu avenged AE2003 defeat, so that's good. Every one of China's players are through to round 3 cept for Bao (what irony!) Malaysia has 3 MS players left in round 3 and 2 of them are unexpected players in Ong EH and Ismail S.
Chen Hong looks to have spent little time on court with Sasaki while Roslin was taken to 3 sets by Joppien. Will that be a factor in their match?

Well, I'm still dissapointed that Bao CL lost. I think he hasn't gotten over his loss to Taufik in SC. Now, he gets to rest all the way till WC in May as Chinese WC squad has skipped the Korean Open this year. Come on Bao!!

Zhou Mi and Zhang Ning team up to play in the women doubles but being singles specialists, they were no match for the team of Novita/Nurlita.

Shows you how different the singles and doubles games are!

Surprised that the #2 seed lost to a qualifier.

Yeah. I remember in the 2001 All England Open, Anders Borsen and Kenny Jonassen paired up to play doubles, and yet they lost to Tam Lok Tin and Wong Tsz Yin of HK during the qualification round.

Either he's injured or saving himself for later. There's a lot of catching up to do

and I think he's China's most valuable singles player. His current game I think

requires him to be 100 % fit.

what will become of Hafiz? i think we need to wait till the Korean Open to find out. if Hafiz crashes out of the Korean open like he did in Japan, i think the Malaysian press will not be kind to him. i hope he won't become another Malaysian exploded star.

In XD, Tony Gunawan and Etty Tantri have defeated 3/4 seeds Nova/Vita first round 11-9,11-2.

Candra/Sigit beat Kim/Ha! I'm quite surprised actually as Candra/Sigit were below par during the Sudirman Cup.

The way I see it, it looks like it might be a finals between Candra/Sigit VS Flandi/Eng OR Candra/Sigit VS Lee/Yoo.

Peter Gade seems to be getter better all the time! I think he has a very good chance of beating X.Xuanze.

    I know!!

I am delighted that they beat Ha and Kim, a terrific result that should boost their confidence for the world championships now, i really hope they do it because at the All England, they played amazing.

The only reason I can see for it not being closer is Ha coming back from injury.

Surprisingly Robertson and Clark lost to the new Chinese pair.

JR squeezes through against the young chinese pair. This chinese pair seem to be pretty hot.

Gade might come unstuck in having to play the qualifier as well, Xia will be the fresher (but maybe not so used to the conditions).

Ng Wei of HK gets through! Now all he has to do is get past Taufik......
There's always a chance against Taufik.

Any chance of Km/Ra NOT winning? They look pretty awesome in the Sudirman Cup. At some parts of the Surdiman cup s/f for mixed, Kim was looking as if he knew exactly where the shuttle was going. Didn't have to stretch at all. Looked like he was a brick wall.

Chen Hong looks really hungry for a redemption after SC! Also, it's very suprising that Lin Dan has made it this far. He has usually been knocked in round of 64 or 32 in his past recent tourneys.
Fu/Cai definitely looking very prospective for future. Even though they lost to JR/Laars in 2 straight the scores were mightly close.
In WS, there could be a possiblity of another Chinese semi-final monopoly(if Wang C still counts "Chinese"). Gong Ruina has to face off against Xie Xie Fang but Xie has beaten her in their last faceoff.

With Bao CL out so early, I'm putting all my hopes in Chen Hong and a little bit into Xia XZ!
