I don't think Dave would have anything to fear from the Badelbow clan; Toby and Derrick played very well, and Dave said as much in his article... unless I missed something when I read it?

..i notice another gal who looks familiar, with a short crop haircut, head turning and smiling, sitting on the 2nd row, just behind the lady wearing a white jacket...;)

Sun Jun liked my reports so much (hee-hee-hee), he wanted a picture with me (on his right) and Growler (on his left). My skill level has improved being in Sun Jun's aura.

We're friendly players; we don't play for revenge... ;)

As you can see, being in the presence of Sun Jun has enhanced our calm demeanor! :D

ctjcad: From asking around, it seems that young talents are picked from the provincial team definitely before they reach 15 years old, to train in the National Squad. The remaining team compete at the national (inter-province) level inside the country, i.e. these guys.

Pete LSD suffers from the curse of photographers, in this case. The photographer's never in the picture, cause he's (she's) the one holding the camera!

That wasn't the Jiangsu Provincial Team. They were the National Junior Squad(s).

    I was busy taking photographs . . .

Vid of Men's Singles 1 at VRC

I've uploaded clips of the match between the Jiangsu players and Alvin Lau/Toby Ng on YouTube. I had to split the file into 2 parts because YouTube requires the files to be 100MB/10 mins. max.

For the first set, no problem.

For the second set, I had to edit the clip to remove a lot of in-between-points stuff e.g. walking around, picking up the shuttle, setting, etc. so I could make it fit. That makes for less "flow" when viewing; sorry!

    Links to the 2 files:
