    From Olympics.com:

Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, Anthony Ginting and India’s PV Sindhu will be among the top badminton players competing at the Indonesia Open 2024 BWF Super 1000 tournament (4-9 June) starting in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Live streaming of the 2024 Indonesia Open badminton matches will be available in India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Australia. More information is below. Geo-restricted streams are also available from 7-9 June on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the Olympics mobile app.

All England champion Christie is seeded third while Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Ginting is the seventh seed for the men’s singles event, which will be led by second seed Shi Yuqi after Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen withdrew.

However, Ginting will have his task cut out against world No. 11 Nishimoto Kenta of Japan in the first round.

Axelsen defeated Anthony Ginting in the final last year to win the Indonesia Open. World No. 9 Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia is also listed to compete in Jakarta, but will be coming off an injury which saw him withdraw from last week's Singapore Open.

The women’s field includes Olympic champion Chen Yufei of the People’s Republic of China and Rio 2016 gold medallist Carolina Marín of Spain. Reigning world champion An Seyoung of the Republic of Korea and two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu are also competing.

The men's doubles field will be hotly-contested with Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia and Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the entry list.

World No. 1 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty of India, who won the Indonesia Open title last year after beating Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik in the final won't be defending their title. The top seeds withdrew at the 11th hour.

The women's doubles competition will see Indonesia’s Apriyani Rahayu, gold medallist at the Tokyo Olympics with Greysia Polii, compete with partner Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. Rahayu and Ramadhanti won silver at the world championships last year.

World champions and Tokyo 2020 silver medallists Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan of China are the top seeds.

In the mixed doubles, three-time world champions Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong of China, and Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai, the 2021 world champions, will be among the top contenders.

No Mia Blichfeldt in the draw

Denmark’s ladies single representative for the Olympics has been very quiet.

Well Axelsen withdraws from S1000. In fact, it doesnt matter which tourney he will mostly skip the backends tournaments.

Some players seek top form now, for some August is more important. Interesting results ahead us.

Who do u guys think are the favs? Looks like this is the last big tournament before the Olympics as a lot of top players will probably skip the 300 and 500 ones.

Sorry if it has already been discussed, but what is SWM on tournament software? Seems a new thing.

He is injured. You make it sound like you think he should have played anyway.

Having the S1000 as the last of the three is stupid planning from BWF in my opinion. It should be highest first.. maybe with a warmup tournament at least two tiers lower.

GC mentioned it last week. She explained it was like Tunjung was moved to a better draw so that she would meet ASY in the semis, otherwise the clash would be in the earlier rounds. I caught the convesation halfway. I am still unclear about it.

I don't know what SWM stands for, but it seems to have something to do with the new rules to replace seeded players who withdraw. It is covered by 6.4.5.3.1. - 6.4.5.3.4. in the BWF World Tour Regulations.
    In this case:
Viktor withdrew. He was seeded 1. He is replaced by the seeded player in the next layer (3/4) in the same half: Anders Antonsen.
Moving Anders leaves a 3/4 spot open. That is filled by the seeded player in the next layer (5/8) in the same quarter: Kunlavut.
Moving Kunlavut then leaves a 5/8 spot open. That is filled by the highest ranked unseeded player from anywhere in the draw (according to the seeding report, not today's ranking): Lee Zii Jia.
LZJ's spot is filled from reserves.

The rules can seem complex at first, but they help maintain a somewhat fair seeding. However, they can not move a seeded player from one half to the other for example so it is not a complete re-seeding.

This pair is well developed, together with Goh/Din they can be a good backup for Aaron/SoH
